Yesterday on the way to the Page Basketball Tournament to support our Jed (16) I grabbed a new book I just received from Bookwise (a new book company that promises to save lots on books by being a member - learn more at http://www.bookwise.com/) titled "The Power of Story." I read to Brad on the way. The author Jim Loehr says that we write the story of our life by the way that we tell our own story. Some stories are verbalized, and some never are, they are told in our minds, but that the stories that we tell ourselves become reality in our life. He claims that "Time only has value only in its intersection with energy; therefore, it becomes priceless in its intersection with extraordinary energy - something I call full engagement."
We talked a lot about the examples we see of this in our lives. It is very similar to the concept of "The Secret" and "The Courage to be Rich." We believe that the part that he is missing, is that it is a belief in God that we can "inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions" (D&C 132:19 ). When we have the faith that he really does trust us with these kinds of miracles, then he can make then happen in our life. When we show gratitude and admiration to Him from whom all blessings flow, then he takes opportunity to bless us even further, and so it continues!
I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.
And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you. (Mosiah 2:21-22 )
I am so grateful to God! I am grateful to be His daughter here on this earth in these last days. I am grateful to have a beautiful family! I am off to wrap presents and make Smurkransa (Farmor I Love You!) to share with our neighbors! Merry Christmas! I am writing a story - it is a beautiful Once upon a time.... :)
