The Purpose of Our Life on Earth

I love President Hinckley! Don't you just want to hug him? He certainly can't be without his darling sweet heart - Marjory Pay! I am certain that Family Home Evenings around the globe tonight will sing each within our own four walls - "We Thank Thee Oh God for a Prophet!" I will be sharing his book "Standing for Something!" He was wonderful! I have a color page for my Jr. team with graphics of his Bees for my kids to color tonight. Thank you President Hinkley for your example. Thank you for your positive smile! We will remember you as a Builder! You built people, you built faith, you built temples, you built the Kingdom of God on Earth! Thank you!

Is it a coincidence that the Visiting Teaching message for this month is about the purpose of life? I think not! President Hinckley certainly has had a purpose to his life. I love the song "The Test." Lyrics include: Didn't He say, He sent us to be tested? Didn't He say, the way would not be sure? But didn't He say, We could live with him, forever more, if we but faithfully endure? After the trial, we will be blessed. But this life... is the test! So, (the VT message asks) what can I do to fulfill the purpose of my life? President Hinckley (as the song "Latter-day Prophets" says) leads the way...I hear and follow his words today! Thank you President Hinckley! 'Till we meet again - we will remember and do our best to Stand for Something as you taught us!
