On Fathers day Liesl sent a Tag for me to outline characteristics that I appreciate in my Father.
F = Faithful, fearless,
A = All knowing, awesome, amazing, adorable,
T = Tall, talented, thoughtful,
H = Heaven Sent! Handsome, honorable, honest, hard working,
E = Everything to me! Enduring, energetic, excellent,
R = Rad! :) Real,
On top of all of these, my Dad is loyal, kind, understanding, compassionate. He knows how to serve others silently, and never tells anyone. To know what he has been doing, you have to ask people around him about where he is, and then piece the puzzle together. He serves with a smile, and doesn't look around or back for recognition, relief, help, or status.
I love you Dad! I treasure memories of our hard year in Arizona. We had to pull together that year. I will forever remember calling you from bid openings when I was clear in downtown Phoenix, scared to death! I had been to openings before, but at those openings, there were people always there that knew you! They were nice to me because they knew you! In Phoenix, we didn't have a reputation at all. Once people got to know you, it turned, but those first few were scary! I remember nearly running out of gas on a one way street, hurring to an opening, praying /trusting that I would have the gas to get to where I was supposed to in time. That was certainly a time of sincere prayer. Hindsight, I know that you felt inspired to move our family to Mesa not for work (which was why we thought we were going) but rather for me! I learned so much that year - my senior year. You sacrificed so I could learn and grow! Thank you Dad!
