We just returned from a beautiful week in Salt Lake City. On Monday we had a family reunion for the Chris B. Paulsen family. Paula Mangone called about a month ago, and asked if I would help invite everyone to gather at Heidi & Dave's home. It was a beautiful evening! Grandpa Chris has some 30 great-grandchildren, and they were ALL there! There were two of Mark's sons who were in school that night, however their darling wives (daughers-in-law) felt welcome enough to come and bring their children! It was a beautiful evening! We enjoyed dinner together as we watched little ones splash and laugh in the pool.
After dinner, Dad (Val Paulsen) shared a few memories of Paul I. Paulsen and Grandpa Chris sat by his side, and inserted his comments/thoughts occassionally. I clicked a lot of photos to remember this beautiful evening. Brad was also not there, I missed him! I am grateful that even though we live a ways away, I can go up there to be a part of time together like this evening. I will post the invitation that was sent out, it is significant because it contains a list of names of all the members of the family. I understand that Grandpa uses it as a reference all year long. That's cute! Last year everyone carried them in their pocket so they could look up names! I giggled when I was in the kitchen, watching out back, I heard people come in asking for the list so they could look up people's names. That's cool! It's cooler that this year we know each other better, and didn't need the names like we did last year! This year we used the sheets mostly for the kids - of which there were three new ones this year, thus the struggle to keep up with names.
It was a beautiful evening, and we all enjoyed hearing Dad's testimony and memories of Farfar, hugging Grandpa Chris, and seeing extended family. I love being a part of a fabulous Paulsen team! We have lots of really neat people all working together, making the best choices we can, seeking for eternity! We love you Farfar, Farmor & Grandma Orla! We miss you! xoxoxoxoxoxoxox
