Fun 4th of July!

I grew up in Granite, Utah - a little community at the mounth of Little Cottonwood Canyon really known as Sandy. For as long as I can remember, they host a breakfast, flag ceremony, and parade on the 4th of July! When I was girl we would beg my Dad to pull a trailer, we would dress up in "princess gowns" and wave on the trailer in the parade. The entire parade is only a few short blocks long, but to us, it was what the 4th of July was supposed to be! It was so fun this year, to take my family back, and participate in that parade again! This year we had all of my family and their spouses and children in it! My Mom has a fancy new car, and so my three beautiful princesses got to dress up in their beautiful "Princess Dresses" but rather than standing on a rough wooden trailer, they rode in the back of a convertable BMW with my Mom driving. They were all beautiful! We made bandaloos for all "Princess L," "Princess S," "Princess B," and "Queen K." D and H own a red white and blue, pulled by Dad's cute blue jeep. We rode behind holding on to ski ropes, throwing otter pops to the crowd while others sprayed water from the boat - check out the slide show with pictures of this whole beautiful week! I regret that I didn't have the camera prior to the parade, I was busy looking for M to give her "Princess M" bandaloo that we made for her, and then I never managed to find the camera until after the parade. I didn't get any pictures of the float H and J put together with H's family. It was fun to all be there once again!

After the parade, we had the priviledge of going, thanks to Mom & Dad who paid for all the tickets, to ride the Snowbird Tram to the top of Hidden Peak. It was a beautiful ride. On top there are still several large snow fields. We had a nice lunch on the top of the mountain, and then all of my family, Granny & Gramps, K & C, H, K, & P all hiked down. It took us a couple of hours, but was beautiful! There are pictures I will post in the slide show! I didn't slide the snow fields, but everyone else did. They loved it! It was beautiful to be together! Thanks Mom & Dad!

Then, because we don't stop - what was that fatigue quote? - we went to D & H's for a swim and Barbeque. We found corn on the cob, and had hamburgers. It was definately 4th of July food! By the time the sun was finally going down, we had sparklers to do, but understood that they were illegal at H's house because she is East of Wasatch Blvd.. Hence, we decided we would not get them out, and so we didn't. They were very good sports about it, and obeyed the rules. Truth is, I believe they were all so tired it was O.K. to not have run around doing sparklers that night! It was definately beautiful! Thank you D & H! Thank you Mom & Dad! Thank you K & C! Thank you K & J! Thank you J & H!
