J's last Prom! I'm Gonna Miss This!

Last night was J's final high school prom. Wow! He is so darling!

For their day date, J drove the big rig, transporting 4 couples up to Red Cliffs where B. met them and they rappelled the 75' cliff near the water pools. Every report I heard was that they "Loved it!" Thanks B, you're a great Dad! Lots of the kids have posted cool pictures of the rappelling on their facebook accounts. If you're friends with Jed you can log in and see them there. :)

For the evening transportation, we arranged through the help of a great friend, to have a 1928 Ford Coupe pick them up and take them to pictures and dinner. It was so charming, soooo out of the ordinary it was the special touch to a great memory!

We hosted dinner for 15 couples (30 people) in the backyard (which was a last minute decision to move outside because the weather was Perfect!). B barbecued steaks, which were great thanks to suggestions you can read by following this link. The Mothers of the other boys each brought a part to help with the meal, and the boys dropped a little money in to help pay for the steaks. Asking for help from the families of the other boys has been a fun way to involve others and ease the burden of hosting it! It's fun too to visit with the parents of the other youth. I love knowing that they aren't sitting in line someplace for dinner! It's better on the budget too! It was beautiful! We had lots of candles outside and the patio heater going with the firepit simmering warm with coals. It was so pretty! I asked B to take some pictures of the setting, but the pictures don't do it justice! J came home between the two and set up the sound equipment outside so they had beautiful music playing. It was georgous!

I am so grateful for a great team who pull together when it's time to finish the project! We have had so many projects in the past few weeks we just seem to race from one to another! That doesn't allow much prep time in the middle! Eeeek!

It was a beautiful, fun night we will all remember!
