The last two days have been loaded completely full of miracles just for me! I have been preparing for months for the 2009 Dixie Expo. I was asked to chair the Opening Ceremonies. Then we had this outragous idea to have the Jamboree 2010 troop B will be attending with sell frazil's (frozen drinks), cookies, icecream bars (from Meadow Gold as arranged by D.A.) and Rice Krispie treats. I have worked on this project nearly daily for the past two months for a little each day to prepare, organize the right people, write scripts, coordinate music and facilities. It's amazing to me how many people don't take committments seriously and have no problem just backing out when it's time to work!
Yesterday, Friday, I didn't see a way that I could accomplish all that needed to be done to be ready! I am completely amazed sitting here tonight, exhausted yes, but still amazed at the magnitude of the miracles that came into place! As B. and I said prayers last night, we kept thinking of one more and then one more and then one more, and then... yes one more. I can think of 20 miracles just sitting here, all things that were out of my control that I had faith would come together, but didn't really know how or when it could happen! Here's a simple list (I don't believe this will mean anything to any one else, this is just for B & I!)
1. Tax Refund from IRS in an amount large enough to cover 1st, 2nd and 3rd Q installment payments for 2009. This is only after I paid 32K and then another 17K on the 15th, but we were so late in compling all the details, we agreed to pay and request an extension. I am glad we did, it meant he had time to really look at ours, and come up with a 19K refund! YEA!
2. State Tax refund more than $2K. :) We pd 7K last week, but we will were expecting it to be more like 12-15K! Yea!
3. I made it to the dump to unload the rocks that have been there for more than a week from the Bloomington Clean up project last week! Wow! I could just not find 20 minutes to make it there! I tried a couple of times, but Sara threw up at the gas station one day... it just didn't happen - finally it did, and they didn't even charge me for dumping all that concrete, I honestly explained that it came from the side of the road, and they believed me! Thank you for miracles! :)
4. It was Administrative Assistants week this week, the 22nd - 28th, and it nearly slipped by without us knowing. B. had ordered lunch on the 22nd and held a staff mtg. I was supposed to make it to, but didn't. So I managed to pick up gift cards and got cute cards made to present at the going away shower we held on Friday for L. who is expecting, and can't keep working due to the stress. :) Whatever that word means! (My dear Farmor used to say that in the old country (Sweden) they didn't have a word for "Stress." She could never understand what that meant! Boy have we changed the language now - with all the talk of emotional breakdowns, meltdowns, PMS, all above and beyond just "stress!")
5. I found a darling stroller, a couple of outfits, and cute blanket for L.'s going away party at 11 (Friday).
6. We were fortunate to get not one, but two strawberry pies from Crowshaw's for that party - you have to call that morning to order and hope you're not too late. We had to postpone the party 20 minutes because they couldn't get them for us any earlier! Blessings!
7. The frazil machine made it! Ordered three weeks ago, it was a gamble as to whether it would make it or not! It was here!
8. The RC cars that we finally ordered made it! They too were ordered way back, and we have just been praying that they would show up by Friday! Miracles happen! The UPS truck didn't deliver until after 5:00 p.m. but it came, and guess what was there! Yea! These are for our booth at the expo, the boys drove them in the cool track that we built - see below! Exhausted - I'll finish my record of the amazing miracles later! I'm bushed! :)
