Last night I wrote about S's eye. She woke up with a red spot still there, about the size of a round pin head - you know those quilters pins with the easy to grab round end on them. It is about that big near the inside corner of her eye.
Today at about noon, I heard her crying hard in the basement. It was a few minutes before she made it upstairs because her brothers didn't want to get into trouble, but finally they came to report that they thought she needed stitches! She cut the inside of her mouth right up from her lip - so that the mouth part was sticking down below her lip, showing in the front. The cut was about this long xxxxxx. I was reviewing an eagle's paperwork when it happened, and so she waited patiently for a few minutes, then we called the pediatrician. They were gone to lunch. After considering a few options, we were inspired to call the dentist and have him look at it (good choice - NO! Thanks for the inspiration right from heaven!!). We called Dr. C, and his office manager said come right in. It wasn't long before he agreed that it would heal better with a few stitches to hold the gaping hole closed so it would heal properly. He put in four stitches - I might say with a very dull needle! I was so pleased with how still S sat! She didn't even wince when he deadened the area. She did so good! I asked J to take a picture of her, but I don't know if that happened. She was so sad tonight, she couldn't suck her thumb, and cried "How am I going to go to sleep?" I told her it would be a good time to get out of the habit! Not too sympathetic! Sorry S! I rubbed lotion on her legs and massaged her feet until she went to sleep (in my bed!) Wow! I am nice!
We leave tomorrow with Sr. team to Salmon, ID to run the river at a BSA camp where they will teach us to kayak! C is so excited! I am quite worried about Jr. team! I hope that S has all her accidents out of her system for the week! I will be sick if an accident happens and we are 10 hours away!
Heavenly Father please send extra angels to watch over my family this week! We need your protection to bring us all safely back together again on Sunday! Please?
Miracles today... S's cut could have gone clear through her lip, requiring a plastic surgeon! Thanks for miracles! She cut her mouth on S's head, however he didn't come out hurt! That's a miracle!
Today J.P. turned in his eagle papers. He turns 18 tomorrow. I hope they don't give him a rough time! He has done a lot of work to get his project done, and deserves to be rewarded for his hard work!
