FOUR!

J is Flying away! B & J boarded a plane on Saturday morning for Virginia. It took them all day to get there, but by evening, he was in Lexington, Virginia which is about 10 miles from Buena Vista, Virginia where Southern Virginia University is. Today, Sunday, he and B spent the day at LDS church services meeting the people and scoping it out. B emailed this picture of J standing on the campus. What do you think?

Back at home, the Oquirrh Mountain Temple was dedicated today, broadcasted to stake centers throughout Utah. Children under the age of 15 were to go only with an adult, so I went to both sessions, one at 9 and another at 3. We were to be in our seats 30 minutes early, it was nice to be there to have a quiet minute. Messages in both sessions were just for me.

Sister Lifferth told about her 3 year old grandson who sometimes questions "Why?" when his mother asks him to do something, to which she sometimes responds "Because I'm the Mom." She talked about obedience, and that just as Moms love and care about their children, our Heavenly Father loves and cares about us even more than our Moms. When we listen and obey our Father, then we can find true joy.

Elder Bednar said that our homes and yards should be like the temple. My home has been under construction for sometime. I am anxious to get it clean and in good repair.

President Uchtdorf talked about pioneers. He shared a quote about the strong, stable, simple members of the church. He told the story of the Binghams who settled near the open copper mine now named after them. They didn't benefit from the ore found there, they were obedient to the Prophet of the Lord who told them to raise cattle on the land and farm. That is what they did.
