C & L are so excited! Over the weekend I learned about an opportunity for young people in Utah to team with a new Novell program. They offered $1000 scholarships to 50 students to their new high school classes. C has been struggling with his class schedule for this year, and I was encouraging him to take a few BYU Independent Study Classes. Then we found Hi-Techhigh.com check it out! C & L both applied, and tonight they were both awarded scholarships to apply towards classes and/or programs to learn Hi-tech skills in today's computer world! Wow! They are so excited! C thinks that the name of the high school in his favorite Movie Series ever - 'Spy Kids' was Hi-Tech High! Now he gets to be a student there! I know that his super powers are 'Out of this World!' C you are amazing! Dixie College classes began today, however, I think some of that may change with this new scholarship offer. L was going to take Computer Fundamentals at the college, but I think she will be switching to this $295 Web Site Design class through Hi-Tech High. I love possibilities! C has always said he was going to design a Jet Pack so we could travel faster. He could be on his way in his 3-D programing class! Spring 2010 they will be offering a cool CEO class C is excited about. Thanks for miracles! Two $1000 scholarships to my own young people!
B & J are en route as we speak. They left Southern Virginia University this evening to begin the 10 hour drive to Houghton, New York. They didn't make it all the way, they finally called and I helped them find a hotel about 1 1/2 hours away. They are tired! B said that J played great this afternoon in practice with the basketball team at SVU. He said the coaches definitely want him, and are working on numbers to increase the amount of the scholarship they offered. It will still cost us a bit to send him, but what are the opportunity costs if he doesn't go? B declined to commit that he would be back, telling them rather that they needed to visit Houghton and check it out, weigh the options before they commit. I keep reminding them that HOME is a good option too! J says that SVU is looking pretty awesome tonight! I am afraid he and C are a lot alike, and they both like a new challenge! I only wish we had those jet packs this year so we could see him often!
Big decisions, please listen carefully to your guides boys! xoxoxo
