Prepare a Way for them that they may Accomplish

I have many heros! One of them is Nephi. Moses. David. All of these were up against all odds, still willing to give their all to accomplish what the Lord commanded. Why did they persist and conquer? "Faith" replies my Beautiful B quickly! Do we have sufficient Faith to keep going? Yes! Yes! Yes! Would I really want life to be less adventurous? NO! I am grateful to have my faith stretched and increased! I am grateful to keep going against all odds. I am grateful to count the miracles in my life! They are MANY!

Last night I went with the YW in our ward shooting for their "On Target" activity, a reward for being caught up in their efforts to read the Book of Mormon by December 2nd. We had six girls and four leaders go. My good friend D.C. called just before we were leaving, he had heard that we were going, and he said he would be there! What a treat that was! Thanks D! It was fun to see the satisfaction of the girls as they did something most had not done before! We had excellent Range Safety Officers there who instructed us as to the safety of guns, and we used the 22s from the range. To my chagrin, when I got there, I had the water, cups, cookies, girls... and no ammunition! I left all 880 shells sitting on the kitchen counter! How embarrassing! I am grateful that they were kind and had some on the range they allowed us to use. I promise to pay B.J. for it! Thank you kind gentlemen! All of us in attendance are better educated and prepared because of your generous donation of time and talent to us last night. Thank you!

Tomorrow B is in charge of Virgin River district Fall Camporee. He is feeling very overwhelmed today. No irony that the chapter for scriptures this morning was 1 Nephi 3! We both needed that reminder of whom we should rely and how we can face the next hurdle in our path. B thinks that he wants to have less hurdles, by eliminating projects and/or activities from our schedule. How would I do that? eliminate kids? I am not going to tell C that he can't run in the track meet(last night). I am not going tell YW I won't plan fun activities for them. I am not going to treat my Jr team like incapable young people - S is 9 and he tended Jr team last night while I went with L to the range. He did a GREAT Job! Thanks S! I suppose we could say we aren't going to do scouting. Where would we be then? Would we rather sit home with nothing to do? I wouldn't!

This weekend is also the Kokopelli Triathlon. We have participated for the past four years. This year I will go help with our office staff to run registration on Friday afternoon, then I will go up to Little Thunder to help with the Fall Camporee. It will work out. I trust that it will! It is also Swiss Days and so some from the office will be taking our jeep to drive in the parade on Saturday morning. I might be way off, but I think they are good with helping, and in fact, happy to be part of an organization that wants to make a difference in our community! It will be fun for them to do that parade! It's not a big one, but fun, and lots of people support it!

I will go and do the things that the Lord hath commanded. I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto me, save he shall prepare a way that I may accomplish the things that he hath commanded. This I know.
