Tonight we are all recovering, drinking Frazzil, sitting on the back porch, smiling together! Each group had their own struggles, but we all feel successful! The 100 group only finished 65 - C's shoes were too tight, and L was just done. B & S were the only ones who really reached their goal in miles (60!), they had a broken chain, flat tire, and wheel fall off, but they made it! Jr team and I had a great ride until B crashed bumping off J's tire, knocking her over. We enjoyed the parks, fed the ducks, rode to Staheli farm and did the corn maze - adding another 3 miles to our already long ride, finally calling it quits at about 34 miles when I got a flat and realized I didn't have an air canister to refill the tire. We were grateful that B & S made it to the truck and could come be the knights in shining armor to come rescue us! Thank you!
It was a fun day! Amazing C and S got home, and had friends call wanting to ride the Green Valley Loop and so they refilled their water bottles, and hit the road again! B drove them to Green Valley so they were basically riding the fun drops down, but those aren't easy! I prayed for them the entire time they were gone, and was grateful when they returned a bit ago safely! They had a great time, and were thrilled to have friends want to challenge them to a few more miles tonight!
B has a bruise from her crash. She was not happy after her crash, but I don't believe it was anything serious, I hope she learns to deal with pain and raise her tolerance level a bit. I believe she was screaming the injured scream before she hit the ground. Life seems to have a way of toughening us up! Today was one of those experiences all the way around! Grateful for sunshine, good family, healthy bodies, cell phones, bicycles, and rescue parties! :)
