When I was a girl, my sisters and I sang in a group which performed around town. One of the songs we learned was a fun song titled "Be a Friend" by Janice Kapp Perry:
"Be a friend, be a friend, be a friend, be a friend, to the poor, to the lonely, to the sick. Make a cake, make a call, spend a day, have a ball, finding out what makes other people tick. Don't sit home on a shelf, give your time, give your self, find a way to ease someone else's load, and you'll find when you do twice as much comes back to you, so be a friend, be a friend, be a friend.
Be a friend, be a friend, be a friend, be a friend, there's a world out there waiting for your touch, and though you may be small, if you give it your all, what you do can add up to very much. While you're young and can give, that's the right way to live, cause from one to one hundred we depend, and some love you can give, someday you will need a chum, so Be a friend, be a friend, be a friend!"
(from memory, I can't find the music.)
I am grateful for good friends! Goal for today - reach out a be a friend!
