Halloween Fun

This weekend is Sadies dance at the high school, and we are sad that we don't have anyone that age to have fun with... so we are hosting our own evening! I am excited! We have invited some families to join us and we're going to do dinner at the park, then play glow stick steal the flag at the awesome downtown water park, and then do a mini road rally, ending someplace for ice cream! I am excited! We picked about five families from all different areas of town, in fact three different high schools will be represented, and then we invited each of them to invite a family so we will get to know all new people! It will be so fun! I am going to order alfredo sauce from Pasta Factory, and famous bread sticks for $1.00/each (they are like 12" long and twirly, yummy!) from the Pizza Factory. I'll throw together a salad, and we're meeting at the Dixie rock. I hope the weather that night will be good, but I think it will be awesome! There is a fire pit in the center of the pavilion we're meeting at. I plan to hand each family a sheet of stickers when they come, with different colors, telling them to put one on each person in their family. Then we'll tell them all the reds at one table, blues at another, etc. That way the families will mix up and we'll get to meet all new people! Then we'll play a game of... haven't decided we have votes for ultimate frisbee, steal the flag, kickball, and flag football. All sound fun! We'll vote, and then we'll do the simple road rally. I've got to figure out that part in the next two days. Now I'm through the Meet the Candidates night, I'm on to this new challenge! Fun!

I am also working on ideas for the YW in Excellence I didn't realize was all up to me. I woke up this morning impressed that we should focus on BEES as our theme - "BE thou an Example of the Believers." Be the person you want to be. I think it could be cool. In the mist of getting ready for other events today, I did a little research and found leads to a pair of sisters who were recently highlight as Bee Keepers in Santa Clara. I will be hot on their trail tomorrow!

1:00 today I got an URGENT call from L that C had crashed on his bike, "Come QUICK!" I immediately asked "Are his teeth still in his mouth?" "Yes, but he is pretty scraped up!" They both had music classes at 11, and had stayed to practice in the practice rooms at the college, and were riding to the high school for seminary when he crashed on 700 South a pretty busy street! I am SO grateful he didn't get run over after he crashed on the side of the road! Thank you Father for miracles! I brought him home, and he has bandages on both hands, one wrist, one elbow, a shoulder, his waist, and his knee has a big gash - I don't think they would have sewn it because it was so jagged, it looks like a TABLESPOON was carved out of his knee! I pulled it closed with some butterfly bandages, gooped it up with triple antibiotic ointment, and then covered it with gauze and then coban. He is green and blue all over! Honestly... I have had my share of playing nurse lately! I am grateful that he is moving a bit tonight. He found L's old crutches, and he is managing to get a round a little. I am so grateful he is moving! Thank you Heavenly Father!
