Halloween Hang Out!

As part of my Personal Progress goals for my Wood Badge tickets, I set the goal to host a neighborhood fall social so our neighbors could get to know each other better. When the house burned down just across the street, and down about seven houses, and I couldn't identify the owners when the fireman and newspaper people asked me who lived there, I vowed that we would find a time to hold a social so we can get to know all our neighbors. In years past, the ward has held a Halloween Trunk or Treat at the church, but many of our neighbors here on this street aren't LDS so that doesn't help us get to know them. So, in tradition of our family (Memphis, to Santa Clara, and now to Bloomington) we have held a little social on Halloween with much help from neighbors! This year I am handing out filers like this:

I honestly believe it is better to not have it hosted by a religious group! Neighborhoods need to pull together, and not just to their religious common friends. I am anxious to host this, and hope that neighbors will recognize that it is NOT being hosted by the LDS church so they will come out! Come Join the Fun!
