I have a darling little boy living some 2400 miles away from home! I am so blessed! His dreams are coming true, and I can't wish them away! I know that his dream for years has been to play college ball! How can I feel bad that he was given that exact opportunity! This little homeschool kid, who graduated with an Associate Degree at 18! Everyone said that couldn't be done... guess what... Impossible things are happening everyday!
My own version for today:
Impossible for a homeschooled kid to get a scholarship to college.. Impossible! Impossible for a 18 year old young man with a coach that doesn't care, get a scholarship to play ball for a terrific school! Impossible!
But the world has a few hopefuls like J! (and C and S and J!) Who don't believe in Impossible dreams! And because these brave, hard working boys, keep making their IMPOSSIBLE Tries.. Impossible Things are happening EVERY DAY!
Today we mailed a secret package to J! We have piled stuff in a bin for him for a couple of weeks. We made cookies, and rushed to the post office just as they closed - Impossible! But we made it! I hope the tape on the box holds! We packed a few Charmin pumpkins made with a roll of TP and cute orange fabric with a paper bag rolled up and Jute twine wound around it and then a little green ivy tucked in the top - practical and festive! Enjoy J! We love you so much! Unfortunately the cookies are on the top and... well the people in the parking lot were all laughing as they watched us sit on the box to get it closed! Miracles, the man hiding behind the closed doors, opened it and took our box with a smile, promising it would still make it out tonight even though we were 45 seconds too late! We love you J!
BTW: Today he talked a girl in VA into going with him to Washington DC to the service trip to the temple. She didn't dare drive, so he is driving her car. Apparently his room mates wanted to go, but when they met to leave, there was not enough room in the car for everyone, so only some of them got to go! I am grateful J got to go, and that he is not sitting in his dorm this last day of his fall break! He is sooo amazing!
C just got home from track - his last night of practice. He ran barefoot tonight on the turf and had a fun time. He rode his bike home after his workout at the school. He is so fun to be around! I am so lucky to be with these young people! I love you! xoxoxoxo
