Happy Halloween!

We had a great party! I am grateful for good friends! This first year, I set a goal of 100 people there visiting, and the consensus at the end of the night was we had closer to 150! I feel it was totally successful! I love to have friends calling to say "How can I help?" I love to see people united together for a common good! I believe people pulling together is a Zion community... opposite of what our world is today! In this world of welfare, unemployment benefits, free lunches... even Halloween is a totally greedy day! It wasn't at our party! Most who bothered come, came because they are those who would give and share to those around them! There were many new faces there, some visitors there with friends, but lots of the good people of this area who I know I can turn to in a time of need - NOT by force, obligation, calling, or assignment... but JUST BECAUSE! I love those kind of people! Thanks for being great friends. Let's do that more often!

My cute kids - this year I tried to talk J into being a frog but he was not going to have it! "No, I Teddy Bear!" has been his constant reply for the last few weeks! He certainly is a teddy bear! I picked him up from trick or treating with B and the kids, and he was asleep in the truck before I could get him home! I sat on the porch and hugged my tired teddy bear while I handed out treats for a bit! It was Heavenly!

C & L left the neighborhood party just before dark and rode their bikes into the dark! C hosted his first ever bike ride in the dark. He and L dropped glow sticks along the trail and met at the top at 8:15 p.m.. L said C was so cute sitting at the top of the ride, praying that someone would show up. One car came, then two, then more people! C said it was awesome! They had 11 riders total (C & L included). They got home and said it was SO fun... they talked B and S into joining them and DOING IT AGAIN! It was a full moon, and a perfect night for a night ride! They all made it back safely and we finally dropped into bed around the stroke of midnight, grateful for an extra hour as we adjusted our clocks - fall back - an hour that night!
