Missionary Call.... In the Mail!

Eeekkkk! J's papers were officially submitted to Salt Lake on Tuesday evening of this week, going in on Wednesday morning. We understand calls from Virginia are normally issued on Thursday. The Bishop told J to plan on 2-4 weeks before he would hear back. We expected it would be after the 14th of March before we would possibly hear because J will be in New York with Southern Virginia University in a Wall Street Experience for the week of Spring Break March 8-12th, so we knew even if it came that week, it will sit in his mailbox waiting for him to return.

This morning at church little J had a diaper problem, and B brought him home to change him, to find the answering machine beeping, cell phones going off, text messages waiting! His Bishop had called him this morning to say he had checked on his call, and it shows that it is en route to J! It must have been issued only ONE DAY after being submitted, on Thursday, and is now en route to Virginia! Again, the Bishop said it could be Friday before it makes it to his mailbox, and not to get excited, but.... :) My J is going to get his mission call THIS WEEK!

We have debated back and forth for a month about leaving this week. J's basketball team is ranked 3rd (AWESOME!) in their division, and are going to National Basketball Championships this week! J leaves Monday at 3:00 p.m. to travel to Pennsylvania to play later this week. We wanted to all go, however, L and C are both in college classes, and with Spring Break next week, every class has midterms this week! They are both very concerned about missing class all week this week. J has been calling concerned about us traveling all the way across the country again, especially with weather forecasting large amounts (8-18") of snow! So, Saturday morning we decided we weren't going to leave on Tuesday at noon as had been planned. We decided to cancel the trip, and just wish J the best! Now his Mission Call is coming! Today B and S have decided they will fly back on Tuesday night arriving there mid-day on Wednesday and go support J in his games, possibly picking up the call from his 'mod' and taking it to Pennsylvania to open, or they will be back by Sunday, and we could gather around a video camera in one week from today to see where J will be serving the next two years, and how soon he will leave. Wow! I can't believe it! Where did my little boy go? I love him soooo dearly! Many memories this week! Prayers answered!
