As I called each of my siblings on Sunday afternoon to tell them of the pending mission call, and to ask their little boys to guess where J will serve so we can put their star (guess) on a big map we are sending back there, they all insisted that I go! I talked to K first and she was insistent! "I will be on my way Tuesday morning! You buy a plane ticket and get there! This is a once in a lifetime memory and you NEED to be there!" She was sooo generous! I said she couldn't come, her boys had school, she couldn't just drop everything and come, she insisted, yes she would! She is so darling! I debated back and forth, and B called his parents. Upon hearing it was a boy's trip, his Dad said he wanted to go. B jumped on and bought him a ticket to go. My parents insisted I needed to go, and said they would be here to tend the other kids. My Fabulous Dad has been saying for more than a week that he thought that B and I should just go and that he would come take care of everyone here! I am so grateful that they are so serving, so set on finding a way to serve, so concerned about giving and sharing that they see the need that I wasn't willing to admit! I am grateful! B and I debated and now with complications of others coming, agreed it wasn't best that I go. Then Monday morning, I talked to my other sister K. :) She insisted saying that "If I missed this memory I would be missing one of the major memories of life! You have wanted him to make this decision to serve for his entire life... go and support him for making the hard, but right decision that will influence the rest of his life for good! Get there!" She hung up with me, insisting she would be here Tuesday with her two little boys, and that she would stay until I got home. I am so blessed with the best sisters! Thank you both! K called Mom and got her calling again, pushing for me to go. I finally relented, and about noon got a hold of B who had been in court all morning again, and asked him to work out tickets/problems with others, so I could go. Now his parents B and J are both coming with us, meeting us in Roanoke, flying from SLC there. We will leave from Vegas and fly through the middle of the night to Roanoke, to rent a car, drive to J's mod and see if the call is there, then on to Pennsylvania to watch my little boy "LIVE HIS DREAM!" I talked to him today, he was packing to leave for National Championship's and he said "The next time I stand in this room, I will be a National Champion with a Mission Call!" What an awesome young man! I love him sooo much! I can't wait to hug him! I am grateful for K and K, and my parents who will step up and help when I don't even know to ask! My other kids are sooo excited to have cousins come and stay here with them! C and L have made a meal plan for the week so I can go grocery shopping for them. They have assigned out dinners, and arranged schedules to help as much as possible. They both came home from their college classes today, to walk in, ask if I was going yet, and high five each other that their prayers had been answered! They are so responsible and good! I am thankful for them! They will have a great time, and make memories here as well! I am thankful for the finances to go, and recognize that is no small miracle! Thank you Father for providing a way! I'm off to see J!!! Racing to get the work done... laundry, bills, payroll, house clean, recycle center, 1099's mailed to IRS, sheets washed, groceries purchased! Eeeekkk! I get to go... lots to do! xoxoxo
In the mean time, cute guesses from Rome Italy, to my wish Boise Idaho. K's little C guessed Disneyland! His favorite place on earth! P guessed Hawaii, J said Texas, J the Dad said Toronto Canada. S said Paris France.
J and I visited about it, and said honestly there isn't a place we can think of that he wouldn't love! I am in awe that it could turn around so quickly! I dreamed last night that there was a mission couple watching the names pour in of missionaries ready to serve... they saw the name of J.H. and grabbed his papers... proclaiming "This is the Elder we have been waiting for!" I know where ever it is to, J will be fabulous!
C brought the paper in on Sunday and said he hoped it wasn't Chili. They had an 8.8 earthquake over the weekend. All missionaries are accounted for and safe. Then we talked and agreed that J would do awesome in a situation like that, jumping in to rescue, work hard, and teach the gospel at the same time! He would be fabulous!
C at the office said "Think about how cool it would be for him to go to Japan!" He would be the topic of conversation! J would stand above the crowd, proclaiming the Gospel to all! She had a red head friend go there, and she loved it, standing out like a sore thumb gave her the opportunity to teach constantly!
I know he will do great where ever it is! I am grateful to get to see him for a couple of days! Off to get the work done! xoxoxoxoxo
