I wasn't a Mom... yet!

Once upon a time I wasn't a Mom... yet! There was a day, some 19 years ago today that I had no idea of the joy, happiness, complete exhaustion of motherhood! I am so grateful that J was willing to come as the trial run, the first in our family! Today he celebrates some 2400 miles away, nearly alone! I am grateful that I had the cell number (by accident) of one of the cute girls he has been dating, so I could beg her to plan a party for him so he got to have a birthday cake! Thanks A!

Tonight for FHE we spent a couple hours in the yard working together. I loved to work beside B as she sang quietly primary songs! She is so precious! As I worked beside S, we talked about how some weeds were hard to pull, and some were easy, he compared them so perfectly to the wise man and the foolish man - having their houses built on the rock or in the sand! I am grateful for his depth of character to see the importance of a firm foundation and how easy it was to pull some of those weeds out even though they were very large, and in fact nearly filled our bucket with one weed! I love to work together and play together! Our yard feels much better tonight, wishing the garden was planted as we are very late, but at least it feels better! Thanks team!

Then we came in and Skyped J! It was so fun to see his smiling face! We talked and caught up for a long time! In fact, it was past midnight his time before we finally let him go! He is so darling! Less than two weeks, and he will be home, or at least en route to home! I am so grateful for his great example for his siblings to follow! I am so thankful that he made our marriage a family 19 years ago today! I am so grateful for the beautiful, wonderful, fun young people who have blessed our lives since! Laus Deo!
