Dear Elder Harr:
I am so grateful for you! I am not sure who or where it was, but before you left, I was telling someone about how I was going to miss texting you, connecting, being able to connect and communicate with you! They said, that we would still be on the same brain wave, that we would still be able to connect and that we would not be that distant. Struggling! I am worried about you! I hope that you're ok! I am sure there are lessons we are to be learning right now! I wish I could hug you! I woke up at 4:00 this morning, wishing I could come hug you! It's wondrous what a hug can do!
Hugs
It's wondrous what a hug can do.
A hug can cheer you when you're blue.
A hug can say, "I love you so," or
"Gee, I hate to see you go."
A hug is "Welcome back again," and
"Great to see you! Where've you been?"
A hug can soothe a small child's pain,
And bring a rainbow after rain.
The hug! There's just no doubt about it...
We scarcely could survive without it!
A hug delights and warms and charms
It must be why God gave us arms.
Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
Sweet for sisters, swell for brothers.
And chances are your favorite aunts
Love them more than potted plants.
Kittens crave them; puppies love them;
Heads of state are not above them.
A hug can break the language barrier
And make your travels so much merrier.
No need to fret about your store of 'em;
The more you give, the more there's more of em!
So stretch those arms out without delay,
and GIVE SOMEONE A HUG TODAY!
I so wish even that I could send cute Sara today on her birthday to get a hug from you! Please find someone and hug them today! I need it!
I talked to our Father in Heaven, plead with Him to help you. I realized that for many missionaries who go foreign, they say that the time in the MTC is the hardest of all! You are right there TODAY Elder! This might be the hardest part of the entire Two years! No regrets! You're letter sounded strong, and I am sure that you would never admit that it was hard, but our Heavenly Father knows your heart, and HE LOVES YOU! Later this morning, as I was curling my hair, praying for you, the words to President's Hinckley's song came into my mind - prompted by the Holy Spirit - Remember Constant as the North Star:
1. When President Hinckley was a boy,
he slept outside for fun.
He noticed all the stars would move,
except for one.
2. Discouraged while in the mission field,
he read these words from home:
“Forget yourself and go to work.”
His heart was stirred to
3. So if you’re discouraged or confused,
just think of that bright star.
Remember what our prophet said
And WHO YOU ARE!
Chorus: Be constant as the North Star that shines for you and me,
Anchored in the gospel with pure integrity,
Steadfast in your service to God and fellowman.
President Hinckley has shown us that we can.
I can't wait for you to get to Taiwan so we can send you cute things to share with the people you are serving! Right now I can't send you something to give to the kids, or a holiday decoration to share with someone because I am not sure who or how you will find someone to share it with! I know that very shortly you will be packing everything into that suitcase to fly out, and I am praying for you to make it as it is! :) I don't need to add any more weight to that luggage!
I noticed the charge from the BYU Health office for about $150 I assume for your shot - are you all ready with shots and those details? Have you heard anything on your visa? I would so hate to have you held up longer for visa problems! Praying that will not be the case! I think this last two weeks will be some of the MOST difficult days of your entire mission! Please hold your head high - know that I love and adore you! I hope that you get to sing in the Priesthood choir, and yet, even if you don't, we will get to hear from the prophets and apostles, and be taught by them. I will be listening, seeking for guidance and instruction as your Mom to know how to support, encourage, and help you! I pray that you can be hugged by someone today - a hug from me! President Kimball said: "God does hear us, and He answers our prayers, but it is usually through another person that our needs are met!" I am sure that this time waiting is not easy! Forget yourself and go to work, and I will too! Count our many blessings, name them one by one, and we will be singing as the days go by! Our blessings are many! Reach out and hug someone today, we all need one! I know that it is a bit awkward for you to hug others..You are so drop dead darling! Handsome! Hubba Hubba! Don't get in an awkward or strange place. The other day, it was D.C. in the parking lot at the office who just sensed that I needed a hug! I am grateful for angels in my life - you are certainly one of them!
So we are packing a little package for you today, celebrating a birthday with Sara! She had poncockas this morning, we wondered if we could send you one in a package - they just aren't as good the second day! We hope that you are finding lots of fruit and vegetables! We had honey dew melon this morning that Liesl picked up after her early morning seminary class. It was yummy! Wish we could share some with you!
Please have a hug from us! We love you and pray for your success! It sounded like you are a bit hesitant to go to Taiwan. Don't be! You will do great! I believe it will not be easy, but at least you will be there, trying your hardest, living the dream! I sang "The Greatest Adventure" at the Centennial Celebration with Kendall Bundy, and told him that was what we sang in the car on the way to the MTC. I am not sure I like that song - JK! I do! The Greatest Adventure is what lies AHEAD! We can do hard things, and we will be blessed and lifted, even CARRIED by our Savior as you serve and give!
There is a little block at the top of the stairs on that corner shelf that Katie gave to us a year ago, I haven't hardly paid attention to it, but Keri stayed here while we came to Virginia to open your mission call. She has brought it to our attention lately. She was here recently with Cliff to hike Havasupi with Granny and Grandpa. She had to make a trip to the top of the stairs to see if it was still there. The sign reads: "Do a little more each day than you think you possibly can." She said that we definitely need to get rid of that sign. She says that over the past few months, she will be climbing the stairs at her own house, and think of that sign, knowing that our family will be living up to that, doing more than possible everyday. We only do it with the help of our Heavenly Father! He can lift us, stretch us, make us more than we possibly can by ourselves! He LOVES YOU Elder! He knows your needs, and will answer my prayers for you! I know! I love and adore you, and I am sure that is only a portion of the love that our Heavenly Father and His Beautiful wife - our Heavenly Mother have for you! That is why we are to come here, to experience a glimpse of what they as our Heavenly Parents know already - that is what we are to learn here in this second estate! They LOVE us more than we can imagine! They want us to succeed, learn and grow to become like them! We can with their help! They are watching over you, guiding, and providing experiences for us both to grow and become better. Not always the easy way, but always for our best!
I love you little boy! Wish I could run my fingers through your hair and kiss your sweet head, squeeze your warm muscles and whisper how much I love you! I DO LOVE You! You are the best! Make today great! I will try to Forget myself and go to work so that we can both learn the lessons we are to learn from this time!
Your Dad got to teach the lesson for Mission Prep Sunday, after he spoke at 10:30 in the 1st ward. He taught pg 159-162.
Love you!xo

Wishing he could just sneak away for a couple of hours to be with us at the Baby Blessing on Sunday! Breaking my heart that he is so close, and yet not a part! I miss him!
