It's been soooo fun to have Summertime! Lots of fun! Pictures tell our stories faster, here's a glimpse into our smiles!
We started the summer off with a fun triathlon, followed only hours later (Met some of our triathletes there with wet heads!) for a piano recital at the Stirling Court Retirement center. We are grateful for a GREAT piano teacher! Thanks H.W.!
S&S are sooo darling! I love these two girls!
S&B modeling their cute new skirts. Great little sewers they have had fun this summer with our Girls Club activities on Thursday mornings. We helped all 9 girls in the club to make aprons. I need to take a picture of them all finished! :)S, A.V., and cousin K.C. went to Timberline together. They had a great time. S came home to head out again on the Scuba trip with C&B - the High Adventure camp for the older boys, because his Dad went, S got to go too! Then he had just a day to pack for scout camp the next week! It felt like he was gone for the entire month of June!
On the home front, we decided we needed some fun of our own, so the girls and I planned "Adventure Wednesdays!" We have hiked to Elephant Arch, Red Cliffs, Kanarraville Falls, Baker Dam this year with different friends each time. We have made fun memories on each outing, and are greatful for fun friends who have joined us! One day we were interviewed by a writer from CA. He wrote about our group in his paper, linked here.
In the middle there someplace, I found myself in Rexburg Idaho for L's Harp Ensemble. It was beautiful! 13 grand harps playing on a beautiful stage in their formals! Wow! They played 13 pieces, in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of their director, who had written the final piece. She was married on July 13th, and had 13 children.
Mom & Dad's Heber ward did a trek at Martin's Cove as families. We didn't want to miss out on the fun! Mom & Dad took the 10 yr old cousins, I took my team of great littles :) It was great memories! Thanks M&D for being that kind of Grandparents! We know YOU'RE GRAND!
We have a funny bucket gift we exchange with our Linford cousins. J wasn't sure he was ready to pass this special friend to his best friend B! What fun! I should note here that the bucket came back our way quickly filled with something else alive (it isn't usually alive!) The note said "...it is time for some games of Duck Duck Goose!" There were six little chicks in the bucket. Oh what fun! The next time we got the (five gallon) bucket it was filled with Animal crackers. That's a lot of crackers! They claim we started the bucket - guilty, we filled it with popcorn a few years back and dropped it on their doorstep. It's a fun tradition now!
The Annual 4th of July Bloomington Party was a success again. We vowed not to take it all on, and we are so grateful for all those who stepped up to help! Our kids decided they would ride a float to CTR and threw Otter Pops to the crowds. The primary theme this year is CTR and so they made shields of Faith and Swords of Truth along the lines of the primary favorite song Scripture Power. They were really cute! This picture is only the last group that came to make their shields and swords. I was a bit busy on the day of the parade and regret that I didn't get a single picture of them on their cute float! Good job team!
In the middle of the paint the shields day, the boys decided to spend their Lake Powell money a different way, instead of renting a houseboat, this is how they plan to get our gear up river so we can camp out! Looks like fun boys! They got to go for it's maiden voyage on the evening of the 4th of July. Fun memories with Dad!
