Thanksgiving Memories!

We are finally going to make it!  We are taking a truck to J in
VA.  We wanted to leave on wednesday but as i predicted, the bike fix owner waited to express interest in our space until the night before! We stayed a couple days and worked on demolition to get ready for him.  Finally thursday night we stopped construction work and refocused on getting out of town.  About 4:30 B decided we should put new batteries in the rig.  When he put them in, it shut the whole thing down!  He and C towed it to the ford shop hoping they could fix it quickly.... nope.  We were forced to wait until morning!  By miracles and answer to prayers, they were able to fix it by noon, disconnecting one part that warms the fuel line, teaching us to use an additive until we get the part in and installed... after our trip.  Huge miracles!  We wrapped up all our jobs and hit the road about 1.

That night we were all anxious to go and voted to drive on through the night stopping on the side of the road as necessary to sleep!  I had been up all night for a few days ... only sleeping a few hours all week, i was tired!  That first night we drove into kansas but still had miles and miles to go!
The weather is perfect!  That first afternoon we found snowflakes and wet roads around Richfield, but that didn't last long and the flakes didn't stick to anything.  We are driving two cars and have three drivers.  C has driven a lot, but through the night he admits he is tired and then B and I forge on!
Saturday night everyone was ready to stop and sleep in a "horizontal, not moving position!"  We stayed in Corydon Indiana.  With time zone changes and really tired kids, we weren't up and to church by 9 Sunday morning.  The little brach building we found only had one branch at 9... now nearly 11 we opted to find a 1:00 ward.  Looking two hours ahead we found another lds building only to learn stake conference had been that morning at 10.  On to a third building!  We only managed to find the end meeting Relief Society, Priesthood and primary.
Kentucky was beautiful!  Hill tops of beautiful fields harvested and clear.  Miles and miles of fence posts.
Crossing into West Virginia, we stopped to get gas about 5:30 p.m.. Problem!  We filled up at a BP station.  B pumped in $100 and the pump turned off, he returned to put the handle back to realize that their green handle wasn't what it is supposed to be... diesel fuel!  It was regular gasoline pumped into our diesel engine!  He immediately realized the problem and we didn't even start the car!
Analyzing carefully options. I called AAA only to have them say there wasn't anything they could do.  I couldn't believe that.... nothing.  I hung ip more than a little frustrated!  Ok, B had gone in to tslk to the attendant who was no help other give him a local phone book.  She later came out and said that this happens often.... well duh!  Fix the problem then BP!  We are bouycotting BP forevermore!
