Palm Sunday

I thought I was going to do singing time on our Savior knowing us each by name, and finding the one.  I have scoured our home and found 12 little lambs from nativity sets, toy cupboards, and stuffed animal bins.  I took pictures of each and have them ready to hand out to teams of 2 to go find them with a general area they were to be hidden in... kitchen, stage, tables closet, outside by the flagpole, etc.

However, then I was reviewing final details, and it occured to me that tomorrow is Palm Sunday.  I started pulling out my resources including the Christ Centered Easter book so often referred to, as well as Celebrating Passover written by the daughter of a great neighbor!

I have changed and will be showing a couple of clips:

There are a few more great movies and details here:

I Love this list of the day by day of what happened and how to remember and learn about each day!  http://kevinandrinna.blogspot.com/2010/03/easter-week-preplanning.html

And here is a day by day coloring book counting down to Easter.

I am such a visual learner, I love Rinna's idea of a countdown of each down via pictures, text and scripture references to Easter.  Here is a link to my copy to cut apart of the scriptures and references with the Gospel Art Kit picture #'s in red and the new LDS.org videos added where I think I will use them.  I need to give a shout out to an amazing blogger I want to be like when I grow up...  Shawni at 71 toes (see her post from a few years back about Easter linked here)!  Thank you Shawni for reminding me that it's Palm Sunday already!

I love this talk by Elder Uchtdorf about Palm Sunday and our role today in the Gospel (Ensign May 2009 The Way of the Disciple).  It's powerful!

I hope to wake up really early and find some discarded palm fronds :)  That would be really cool for tomorrow!  Happy Singing.  I will be singing Easter Hosanna for sure along with the other Easter ones, imagining ourselves welcoming the Savior!

Hummm lots of details to iron out.

Follow up:  Yes, I got up early with B and we went into our building - the palms were beautiful!  I was so tired the night before I didn't even remember that we had many many palms just waiting for me! The kids loved them! Singing time went great! I had to tell them to be careful with the pokies on the palm fronds, but we definitely made memories!  I am so grateful for personal revelation! I know that my Heavenly Father knows my every need and is trying to tell me what I am supposed to do!  I want to follow Him!
