We had a beautiful Easter week this year! It began when I sent my three Jr team members up north to their cousin's house for a couple of days. It was very quiet around here for a few days. I was the sole care giver for Border League team - the three youngest! This team went to S.S.'s home Monday and returned Wednesday afternoon. They had a great time! Thanks for the fun Stapels! Love you!
I should note while up there, they attended a rally at the capitol in support of Families on the day that the Supreme court heard the cases on Prop 8. It was a life changing experience, showing them they need to take a stand for families!!!
All week, I posted pages on the wall with a note about the significant things that happened on that day during the last week of the Savior's life!

It was beautiful to discuss the events as they unfolded, and helped us really understand what happened, one piece at a time. I especially appreciated this time chart from L's DSC Institute teacher.
Thursday morning we helped with a great flag raising for a new restaurant in town. I am thankful to have such outstanding young men! Here's a glimpse:

Found this on the way home - this little one was just hours old! We all watched as he took his first trip outside into the beautiful field over the river from our home.
A must visit while in St. George is a trip to the Green Valley Loop! These cute kids are so grown up! I Love you! What happened to Jr. team? They don't look too Jr to me anymore!
On Thursday afternoon my Mom and Pam and her kids came to St. George. They joined us for a Sader meal that night, a reminder of some of what the passover meal might have included. I am grateful L has experienced the Holy Land and she added a lot to my understanding of those traditions.
Friday we watched the clock, and remembered hour by hour the struggles and experiences of our Savior and those close to him. I was grateful to get to Saturday morning. I know what the next two days would bring, and I was grateful to have experienced the heavy heart and pain, but to get to the morning. Shabot is much different than our Sabbath. I learned a lot from L this year.
Swimming pool, Easter Egg hunt, hike up Snow Canyon. Lots of fun this weekend! Here's a glimpse..... Photos are worth 1000 words:

Lots of fun at the Easter Egg hunt this year! Just about perfect! Beautiful weather, fun friends, not for the entire community - we just invited a few families, and it was just right! After an hour there were still some good prizes hidden in eggs out there, everyone was still looking! Made it fun time to visit and share with good people! Thanks friends!
Of course the snake steals the show! Thanks for finding it for us super S! This was the first time P had been hiking on red rock ever! What a fun trip to marble mountain. While out there, J called from Virginia. B described that day as 360 degrees of people! There were tons of people out there! We didn't dare take the kids to our favorite easy hike ...marble mountain because it's our favorite thing to roll the marbles off the top, and we are sure they would have hit someone! So many people there!

Saturday night I was grateful to take two beautiful daughters to the YW General Conference session for them. It was a beautiful evening with lots of impressions for my girls! Laus Deo! Afterwards we went for ice cream and window (silly) shopping. I am grateful for them!
Sunday morning we had a farewell for Katelyn C. and had responsibilities in primary, in addition to Easter morning festivities. I was impressed in the middle of the night I needed to change what I had planned for Primary, and that we should go up to the Dixie Pioneer cave and hold our Easter Sunrise program. That meant lots of preparations for me to do in the middle of the night. It was a beautiful morning as we read the story with the help of the 12 eggs and this year included the final pages of the Sader meal outline at the conclusion of the final egg. It was precious to have all my family together in those brisk early morning hours!
Here's a peak:

I enjoyed Easter morning! Thanks teams for helping pull off all those details! We saved searching for baskets until after church. It was perfect!
Here are a few pictures of other details around our home this week.
Easter Garden we put together after we reenacted that morning of the Savior's resurrection. S is so creative, he fashioned those crosses for me - I love them! Thanks S! The tomb was empty!

This is L's favorite sculpture from Jerusalem! It is beautiful! I have loved our collection of the Savior finding his followers, caring for each lamb in his flock.
This funny looking plant is called a Resurrection Rose. We have had fun, watching it, talking about how dead it looked when we got it out this year. And then we put it in water, and it took on new life! They aren't very expensive, but are amazing that they can appear so dead, and within a matter of a few hours will open up and be green and full of life again! I didn't remember to take a picture when it was out in full bloom. This has been out of the water for two days now! It will shrivel back up and be just a ball until we put it back into the water again. They say it can repeat this process for 20 years!

The peace lillies are blooming in our home - we are grateful for peace here! When B and I were married we were given one of these plants. It has struggled over the years, but has been divided and replanted several times. B jokes that I never should have divided it - that it symbolizes our marriage, and that we want to be together forever! I justified dividing it in that it wanted to have a posterity like ours too! :) Anyway, I have several of them here in my home right now in bloom! They are beautiful!
I have had many drops of oil added to my lamp this week! I am so grateful for my Savior and his sacrifices for me! I want to serve Him everyday of my life by sharing that oil in my lamp! Laus Deo!
