Couple relationships are all different. I am so blessed to be sealed for all eternity to my Best Friend! We love to be together! It carries over to our children. I know it is different than many in our society who love each other, but don't choose to spend their free time together, but rather just get back together after doing their own activities for a time. Our family loves being together! With that many individuals each voting for their own activities, and yet choosing in the end to go together, it leads to many different directions in everyday! There are times that we have to "Divide and Conquer" but we call it that, and rejoice when we get to be together again! I am grateful for the many, many projects that can be accomplished either way!
I have a little block at the top of my stairs that was given to me by my sister many years ago. I honestly don't know how long it has been perched on the little shelves there, but it says "Do more each day than you think you possibly can." I don't believe I even realized it was there until my sister K came and cared for my kids while I flew to VA to be there when J opened his mission call. To this day it is a laughing point with my family, that we don't even realize it is there, encouraging us to each keep doing. What will today bring? ... More than we could imagine possible! Truly... "With God Nothing is Impossible!"
The last several weeks have been a wild ride! I haven't written here because I simply haven't found a minute to record the miracles and that is a cop out! My Heavenly Father finds time everyday to work miracles just for me, I need to take a minute to record those miracles!
Yesterday morning, B was invited to participate in a corporate fund raising golf tournament with the Savage's. We so appreciate those great men who help us with our taxes and questions. Rod and Josh are great!! Thank you gentlemen! So, B took off early Saturday in that direction, while I got the littles up and we headed up the mountain to pick up S from Timberline. He had a great week, but it wasn't all fun. He was assigned a tough group of boys who didn't want to be there. One boy had been bribed by his parents with a motorcycle (I believe) if he would go on this camp. One boy was from CA, visiting his Grandparents who forced him to go, sounds like it was easier to have him at Scout camp than in their home, he didn't want to be there. The Troop Guide assigned to work over him didn't want to be there, and kept leaving camp completely. Friday night S called us about 9:00 a little worried. He had spent the night before in another tent with other boys, because his tent mate had left and was... someplace else. This night he was really tired, but didn't want to spend the night in another tent someplace else, and yet wasn't quite sure he was really brave enough to go it all alone. I was not sure it was a good thing for him to have his cell phone up there on the mountain, but I am grateful after that evening! I will long remember the prayer offered over the phone lines, carrying the peace of the spirit to his cold tent that night, reminding Him that he is loved and cared for by our All Powerful Father in Heaven. I am so grateful for the Priesthood Keys in my home, that can bless lives across miles, and speak peace to listening hearts!
S doesn't complain! He said he had a really hard group, but he rolls up his sleeves and does what needs doing! I got to go pick him up on Saturday morning, and witness him leading as Song-Mister and Yellow Troop Guide. He is an amazing young man! It was beautiful to be up in the mountains! Makes me want to have a cabin - just a tinge!
There were lots of friends there to also pick up their sons from camp! It was a joyful reunion! I am grateful for good friends and family both!
About noon, I found myself nearly back to St. George. J and C had been asked to help a neighbor move some office equipment that morning, and they were just finishing that job so we met at the building to clean and work in the flower beds for a while. B wasn't expected until about 1:30 so we determined to work until then at which time we would hook on the boat and head to the lake! I love it when we are motivated to get done! The office building felt much better after my crew spent our time there Saturday. We were home by 1:30 and B came shortly after to join us as we left for the lake.
We are not sure why it was so perfect Saturday afternoon at the lake, but it WAS! There were very few boats there, the water was flat, and we loved the evening... right up until we didn't dare take one more pull because the sun had set over the hill. It may well be the best day on the boat for the year! Seriously, the last couple hours the water was totally flat, the reflections off the water were gorgeous, and we held on for as long as we possible could! The water temp was 70 degrees, and it was hot enough outside, it was necessary to jump in to cool off! We blew up the huge tube for the last hour and some of the kids chose to stay on one end of the lake to play in the water while we enjoyed another pull! Oh, it was beautiful!
I am thankful to work and play together! I love being together and accomplishing so much, and then enjoying such beauty together! I wish I could upload some photos. S was the only one with his phone on the boat, and he has gone to help Grandpa tonight for a few days. I'll try to remember to post some later this week.
Laus Deo!
