Power to Do - Miracles!

Last week was full of miracles!

Chandler after Wisdom Teeth Out

Two weeks ago, on a Thursday afternoon Chandler had his Wisdom teeth out!  He had three of the 4 that were in the bone still, and were sideways!  They had to put him completely out to dig them out.  They warned him that they were deep, and that he would feel pretty good for a couple days, but that his days 3-5 would be the hardest.  Well, day three would have been Sunday.  Saturday afternoon he got a call from President Anderson explaining that President was leaving town, and that the other Mission Prep AP was gone too, leaving Chan in charge for the day!  Chan was really worried, that was to be his toughest day, and he had not really been up even since the surgery!  President Anderson promised him that he would feel better, and that all would be ok by morning so he could carry on the work of Mission Prep!  Miracles!  Chan was great on Sunday!  He was healed!  Swelling was down to almost nothing! No pain! No more meds!  He was better and Mission Prep went off without a hitch!  Chan was still nervous, but he was able to talk and was not swollen!

Miracles Happen!  I know that there are so many miracles everyday!  I am so grateful to be a daughter of His, here on the earth today to fulfill my mission!
That has had a hugh impact on Chan.  He shared his testimony yesterday in Sacrament about the power of the priesthood and that he was even less swollen than he had been. He testified of the power of the priesthood that Dad and Jed had given him a blessing, and then the promise from President A that he was healed quickly!  Miracles!  I am grateful for the miracle, but even more grateful for his acknowledgement of the priesthood miracles in his behalf!
Then I was praying for 80* temps and clouds for the 4th of July.  It was Chandler yesterday that admitted in our family testimony meeting that he didn't believe it could happen.  But then even he admits that it did!  It was 87* at the end of the parade - a record as it has been 112*+ every day for the past several weeks!  It got hot, but all that morning we had a blanket of clouds covering us and the sun didn't shine right on us until about noon when the party was over! :)  Tender Mercies!

I have been reading Elder Richard G. Scott's message from April Conference.  He said:

Doing all we can to invite the gentle, guiding influence of the Holy Ghost into our lives is critical in our attempts to center our homes on the Savior. Acting obediently on those promptings strengthens us even more.

When we obey the commandments of the Lord and serve His children unselfishly, the natural consequence is power from God—power to do more than we can do by ourselvesOur insights, our talents, our abilities are expanded because we receive strength and power from the Lord.

These are all good pieces from his talk, but the most important is that Power!  Power to do more than we can by ourselves!  His Power!  I testify of His Power!  He is ALL Powerful!  He is aware of our every desire and need!  He sees us and will answer our prayers according to our faith and diligence! We are loved by Him!

I know that as we recognize and show gratitude for His abundance in our lives; when we notice the miracles, then in His infinite power and love He showers additional blessings.  That doesn't mean that our way is easy or that He protects us from all disappointment or pain.  He wants us to grow and learn, and become like He is!  We can't get there sitting in an easy chair eating bon bons! :)  xoxoxoxoxo

I know that serving a mission is not easy!  I know that my Liesl is stretching and growing, reaching out, and trying hard!  Keep trying!  You can do this girl, we both can and we will be stronger, more powerful, closer to the daughters he wants us to be because we struggled!  It is like teaching Sophia to swim!  She doesn't want to be put into the water! She doesn't want to kick her legs.  She nearly strangled me on Saturday because she just wants to hold on.  He carefully pries our legs off of the pole we insist we want to hold onto, and tries to show us how to blow bubbles and kick!  It isn't hard!  Trust Him!

Yesterday in testimony meeting Brother Webb shared this quote from Elder Maxwell regarding Our Father and his desire for us to use our talents and to help Him in this work.  He said he too was grateful....

Omniscient Orchestration - all parts must be in tune and playing the right beat! Omniscient Orchestration   I had to write it down and come home and look it up!  What part am I playing... flute, harp, piano, or singing... Alto?  Omniscient Orchestration!

I know He is counting on each of us!  My beautiful L is playing a lead part in his orchestra right now!  She is smiling, loving, serving with all her heart!  I am so grateful for her!  He will lift us and give us Power beyond your own!  He is counting on me!Thank you all!!!!
