The Only thing constant is Change!

Last week for Family Home Evening we talked about D&C 82:10:  I the Lord am Bound when ye do what I say... "
After a fun time tubing the Virgin River (it was high when I came home from the office, and I encouraged everyone to get ready quick so we could go!) We made cute Caterpiller cupcakes.  I'll post a photo later, but it was a good activity to go along with our discussion.  We talked about the Only thing constant is Change and what that meant with regards to covenants and this earth life.

We have recently put together these cute visuals for our Sister L  to share in the mission field so this discussion tied right into that. We also have a dear neighbor who was put on hospice recently and so we talked about how we are all like caterpillars here on this earth, waiting for our turn to build a cocoon, preparing for the next life which we believe will be even more amazing that this one! If we could only see the end from the beginning!

It was a great discussion, and has continued all week! Are we prepared for change? Do we welcome it and embrace it, or are we fearful of it? If we keep our covenants and do our best everyday we have no reason to be worried. We need to move forward, knowing that change is happening, in fact being grateful for the changes they mean we are growing and improving!

Brother M passed away on Wednesday morning. He is changing and learning, seeing with new eyes!  We are grateful it didn't take long, but miss him! We have very fond memories of phone calls from him that he needed to borrow helpers - he was always taking care of someone!!! He would often call and borrow a helper to come work beside him! What a treasure he is! Several years ago, he would ride his 3 wheeled bike over to check on us!  We have a steep driveway and he would struggle getting back up to the top so the kids would push him up! Lately he has had a jazzy (battery powered chair) it wouldn't make it up the driveway either and is heavier. He came once, but it was so hard to get up the driveway he didn't every dare come back in his jazzy! We miss you Brother M!  We are sure you are in a new place, changed!  Riding bikes, flying your jets, farming and growing beautiful gardens all around you! Thanks for teaching us! xxxxxxx

Change is happening! Soon my C will leave to the MTC.  I am loving having him here - although he has been gone for most of the month playing at Powell!  Enjoy it now because the next two years will be a bit different!  Thanks for being willing to serve our Father!
