Saturday morning we knew we needed to have haircuts that day, and that there were several little projects we needed to get done around the house. We also hoped to check in on a couple activities happening around town i.e. a Big Brother & Big Sisters event and a Celebrating Families through Adoption event. Before we could get moving, the phone rang. It was President Pike. He asked to talk to me and asked if I would speak in Stake Conference that evening on whatever I was prompted to share regarding preparing for and serving missionary work. He said there would be two other mom's asked to speak, and that we were to each take three minutes. Ok.
That changed the course of that day! I still got haircuts done for all and we made it to those events, but it certainly changed the conversation for the day! Just last week L had written home with a little quote "God can't drive a parked car." She testified of miracles that had happened because they worked and kept working even when conditions would have merited other actions! They had been prompted to continue tracting even beyond when they had said, and the next two doors (as I recall) both wanted to learn more! I know that is true! The Lord can't prompt us, guide us, help us if we leave our attitudes or choices parked!
A few weeks ago in Sacrament meeting a friend shared a book written by a member of ward now titled "Magnificent Gift" I found it on kindle and have been reading and pondering it. I know that agency given to us from our Father is so powerful! It is so important that a war even in heaven was fought over it! Do we realize the priority given to agency? In all we do, think, respond to, act! I get to choose! I have the responsibility for choosing to handle situations with love or with frustration. I have the responsibility for where I am and for what situations I choose to participate in. I get to choose!
