I am excited to do singing time tomorrow! I just bought a bunch of totally different kinds of candies at the grocery store. I am going to hang them up front from my clothes line, and then we are going to play Apples to Apples with Primary Songs. Rules: No repeats of the song - once it's been used - can't happen for the next candy too! Which ones can you relate to a primary song? I'll pick a good singer to choose who wins, and we'll pick the first three to submit their ideas!
Samples: Look - I looked out the window and what did I see
Whoppers - When Joseph went to bethlehem I think he took great care, to place his tools, and close his shop and leave no whoppers there. :)
Starbursts - I am like a star bursting brighly, bursting for the whole world to see.
Fun and easy. I won't be using it in Jr. they are too young and will be sad if they don't get everyone!
For Jr I'm taking the jingle bells and paper plates. I haven't done the plates for a while. I am going to play the paint the song in the air and review Samuel the Lamanite song and Could I hold the Baby. I also interviewed the kids a few weeks back what their favorite Primary Song is. I'll include those tomorrow in Jr.
Lots of fun! :) Happy Singing!
Edit - in the end, we didn't use this at all! The PP told the story of the three little pigs. She talked about building their homes and what they chose to build their homes out of and on which foundation. Then we created a twisted version of The Wise Man and the Foolish Man... to the three little pigs story. She talked about how important it is to build our houses on firm foundations so they will not get blown down and destroyed when the adversary attacks.
I got to testify how important that is. We sang the Wise Man and Foolish Man again. Then we sang, I am a Child of God (with soft jingle bells), We are As the Armies of Helaman, Could I hold the Baby and Samuel Testified. The line at the end of Could I Hold the Baby... "Could I hold the baby, and tell him of my love, how glad I am that Jesus Christ was sent from Heaven Above." Powerful! It was a funny and great sharing time that lead to a great singing time even if it was absolutely not what I had planned!
