We decided that we wanted to play hookie just a little longer so we could find flights for B and J back to their places without flying on Sunday. So we booked their flights for Monday afternoon. That gave us one one day longer than most people enjoyed for Thanksgiving break. We loved having one more day together! 1st it meant we could have that evening on the beach!
Oh, I have to record that we parked at the Golden Gate Park again to go play on the beach. Remember we have a trailer full of bikes!!! in downtown San Francisco! Everyone told us we would not find parking! I totally know that we had miracles on our car this entire trip! We found parking, we were protected! That afternoon as we pulled into park, a Chinese lady across the street came over to tell us to not park there! The mini van they rented had just been broken into and all their luggage - everything was taken! Scary! Here we are parking with 10 bikes out in the open on our trailer. We had a cable locking them on, but I know we were totally protected! Miracles I am counting! Thanks Heavenly Father!

So Monday we decided that we had not seen Fisherman's Warf or the Museums along there. So we headed that way. We were guided to find Lombard Street and we found a parallel parking stall just about a block away! One block from the trolley car station too! It was perfect! We paid the parking meter, walked Lombard street, and watched cars maneuver around it's corners! Then we hiked down the other side to Fisherman's Warf. We enjoyed the Marinetime Museum and lost little S's shoe on the ship there someplace! We had the entire place to ourselves! I think there were 3 other people on the entire sailboat! Not many! We watched the Seals on the dock, learned of life at sea, and enjoyed the morning.

We decided we wanted to ride the trolley cars, and B decided he was not flying home. He was worried about leaving me that far away and I was headed home anyway, he decided to stay and drive home with me. J's flight was delayed and so we decided to ride the trolley car from one end of the line to the other and back. What fun memories! Thanks Smile team!

I need to record the fun of the conductor on the trolley car. We boarded the car with lots of other tourists. For the way out I went inside so I could take the stroller and the two little ones. B jumped on outside so J and the girls could hold on to the rails. :) I talked to the lady sitting across from me, she was there all alone from Chicago, her first time on the trolley too. She was scared trying to figure out the tickets. The conductor talked to B first about the tickets and I didn't hear that conversation, but when he came inside, he asked about my ticket and I told him that I was with that group outside, he said "have we got something going here?" and he started into song singing "The brady Bunch!" He was totally smiling and playing with us! He congratulated us on a beautiful family and said he was glad to have us join him that day! He was sooo kind! I felt a little sorry for that lady. She didn't stay long on the trolley - watching carefully every stop, worried about where to get off. We just rode, and asked questions. J came inside and talked to me for a bit, then he moved back outside with the others. He found a few to talk Chinese to (he loves that) on the return trip a man behind us asked "how come your a white guy that speaks Chinese?" He smiled and explained then someone else chimed in in Chinese and they had a fun smile back and forth a bit. He loves to use his talents and I am so grateful to claim everyone of our Smile Team! It was another fun day together!
At the end of the ride, we had to race to get J to the airport. His flight had been delayed, true, but boy do we know how to fill the time quickly with awesome memories! He only had a few minutes to get to his gate, and missed the flight because there was a problem with the machine and they had to process him manually. He was frustrated and ended up not flying out until midnight. The airport acknowledged that he was there in time to catch the flight and didn't charge him for the change, but it was not fun to be bumped and then that flight was late - like 3 1/2 hours late! He thought he would fly out at 8, but didn't actually leave the airport until about midnight. Ugh! We are grateful for the fun memories we had together even with the inconveniences! Thanks for being a part of the fun Smile team!
