Creative Confidence

I am grateful to get to write about life.

A couple weeks back I found myself in the Nursery helping out, and learned that they were still using a very beat up version of the Nursery Singing book I had put together a long time ago.  I decided I would help it out and brought it home for a renovation.  It was fun to have my S work on it with me as a service project for her Faith in God goal under service.  We added a few songs and some new smiley faces.  Here are some photos of what we did.

So, for my records so I can find these in the future, here are links to the digital files.  The pages in the Nursery Songbook Pages are the pages that I slide into the sheet protectors. Then I put the items to hold in that sheet protector so they are there ready when I need them.  It helps me to have songs in order so I remember what song to sing next.  If I don't feel that song is appropriate for the week, I can easily skip it, but if I don't have a prompting to remind me it is a fun one with Nursery kids, then I never sing it!  I put the songs in an order in my book that will be one song with something to hold followed by another song that either relates to that item or is a non item song... i.e.  with Scripture Power my kids like to hold up the little fronts of the Book of Mormon when it says Scripture Power.  I put the song Book of Mormon Stories right after Scripture Power in my binder so I will remember to sing that one next. :)  Or like Smiles - I hand out the Smiles song and on that one I also remember to sing If You're Happy and You Know it.  I added I Wonder When He Comes Again with some clues to remind the kids of the next words, and a number and words on the back to help those who may not know the song well.

I always start Nursery Singing Time with "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam."  I have these cute sunbeams that I made 100 years ago... seriously it's time this week to make new ones!  They are out of laminated posterboard and have a whole to put around their face, they are a little bigger than my binder, but I still store them in the front of the binder so they are always there.  I only have about 6 left so we have to sing a couple times so everyone gets a turn to be a sunbeam.

Then like to sing "I Love to See the Temple" with the hand actions described in the nursery manual...
