Monumental Moments!

Over the past few weeks we have had so much happening, I have neglected my desire and promptings to write because I don't know where to write in private. This blog disappears when I set it to private, and so the only way I can write here is to change the setting to public, and I am not ready to have public see my heart today.

Last week B and I went as Ma and Pa on trek to Martin's Cove. It was a life changing event. So many details I need to record.

I will start with today though as I need to record the miracles of today and then get some laundry done so I can be in the temple in the early morning tomorrow.

On Thursday J was home and decided to go for a bike ride. The shop team was riding snow canyon, so he headed that way, hoping to catch them. He didn't. He proceeded to ride alone up to Dammeron Valley where he turned around and came back down Snow Canyon. Alone, he was flying!  His Strava tracker shows that he was doing nearly 55 mph and then slowed to make a corner. accelerating again, to about 50, he took his hand off the bars to wave to a biker going up, realized he was too far out, tried to lock up the brakes, headed to a sagebrush, and then launched into the air.  Walkers who helped pick him up off the sand note two things:  1st that it was a total miracle that he landed on sand instead of the lava that was all around him!  Huge Miracle!  2nd that he flew between 15 and 20 feet before he hit the ground to start sommersaulting, landing with his neck stretched sideways, but totally cauncious and awake.  Miracles!  They helped him up, and he called Annie to come pick him up.  L is home from BYUI just for a few weeks for summer break and she was tending our kids for us, B, S, B and I were all on trek.  Annie brought J home and later that afternoon he went into a chiropractor who pushed on him, and tweaked him, promising that he didn't think there was anything broken.

We got done with our trek Friday about noon, and headed to SLC in our own car (whole other story) to go to the wedding ceremony (we hoped but didn't make it) of Shun Li.  J called because he didn't feel he should drive that far feeling the way had did, assuring me that he was ok, but that it was a long drive, and he really didn't feel great.  We offered prayers of gratitude that he was alive, and asked him NOT to come!  We went to the reception - missing the ceremony at the Draper Temple - a test of consecration on our part as we were the last ones to leave, cleaning the restrooms, not once but twice that morning.  We offered a prayer of dedication and love to our Savior knowing that we would not make it because we were leaving too late.  We hope that someday Shun Li will know that we really wanted to be there.  We did go to his reception and hugged he and his cute new wife!  It was close to 2 in the morning when we finally rolled in, hugging our little ones and climbing in our own bed for the first time in a week, a welcome treat!

So the weekend was upon us, Saturday we spent most of the day putting away. We had an event at the Washington Rec Center we were helping with and we didn't want J lifting so B got up and went with L to put that together. J was there, of course. He is committed and worked through the pain.  That night, we learned that B and J were in town to bless Dan's baby on Sunday.  We asked them to meet us at the rec center before other events of the evening, and B and B gave J a blessing of healing.
Sunday, B had meetings, so I took the kids to the baby blessing at 11 and J and A came. J managed to sit through the sacrament, but was hurting so badly because he had not taken any medication because he was fasting, that he couldn't stay any longer. He went home, and slept through all of our own ward.  Praying for healing!

Monday morning I called to get him an appointment to get an x-ray and be looked at.  He went back to the chiropractor and assured me that he was just sore, but ok.  The first appt they had was not until Tuesday at 11:30.

This morning at 10:15 I had an appointment to take S in for her leg. It was her 2 week checkup and she was excited to get her cast off after her surgery!  Rightfully so!
