I have so much to be grateful for! I have not written in my journal for a long time. My writing time has been taken to write to my missionaries. Chandler returned home a few weeks ago, and I am so grateful for their safe return. Chandler has some experiences of spending time in a jail cell over night a couple of times. I will never fully comprehend, nor do I believe he will ever really share the details of the experiences he has endured while in Malaysia. I am grateful he is home safely! Today he is living at home, going to Dixie State University. Liesl is going to BYU-Idaho and has a cute apartment there. She was home for a few weeks while Chandler came home, but is back to school right now. In the past I have written in some code on this blog because it was for a time public. I have taken some time to move my blog to another setting so that I can make it private and have it work better. I trust that means that I can write here in private, have it stored on the web, but not available to be seen by others. :) Yea! I love to write and want to record the miracles of my everyday life! I am so blessed!
I know that there are so many miracles everyday that I desire to record, that if I burden my heart with the task of recording all those miracles back in time, I will never move forward. I am going to start with writing today. I hope that I can take opportunities to come back, and post the letters I wrote to my missionaries here to record some of those miracles. That will take time, but I am grateful for a place to do that! In the meantime, I am so grateful for learning opportunities of today and want to record those so I Remember! ;)
This coming weekend is General Conference. I love to hear the words of our Prophets, Seers and Revelators for us today! I want to have my heart prepared and ready to hear the word of the Lord for me!
This last weekend our family rode in our 2nd Salt to Saint Relay. Jed has a broken neck and is healing, but can't ride yet. Annie really didn't have any desire to come participate and the other family we invited backed out so it was just 7 on our team.... Jakob (7), Sara (12 with a healing broken leg), Brinley (13), Sam (15), Chandler, Brad & I. That ride has 24 legs and each rider is supposed to ride just 3 legs, but with such a small team, we weren't sure what parts we were riding or if we were going to pick up and drive our baton along part of it. That made it really hard at 1:30 in the morning when the temperatures were in the low 40's and I couldn't get to the additional clothes I had brought because Brad had taken them with the littles to sleep for a while. So we pulled over and slept for a few hours. We were a sponsored team, helping with the finish line, so when I woke up about 5:30 a.m. we sent one car to the finish line to help Jed and his team to get set up there. Aren't these two Chandler and Brinley sooo cute!?? They were practicing for the finish line that was still a few blocks away. I am so grateful for the great friends that my kids are to each other! We are so grateful to have Chandler back on our team again! Love you beautiful young people! Forever!!! xoxoxoxo
Jed broke his neck on July 30th in a bike accident. The miracles surrounding that event are sooo numerous. I will do a post on just that. At this point in his healing, he is not to lift anything more than 15 pounds, and he is wearing a neck brace that holds his head straight. He was hoping to have that changed a couple weeks back, but they didn't see the bone growth they hoped they would, so they told him to wear it for another 6 weeks. That seems like a long time looking at it into the future! He is healing and we are so grateful he is up walking around, and not paralyzed! Miracles!
This past Sunday night was this Blood Supermoon. It was a beautiful night spent pondering our testimonies together as we witnessed the Hand of God in our world. He is so kind and patient with us. We are in awe at His power! We did not take these photos, but spent the evening on the top of a nearby bluff, watching that beautiful moon in the sky, juggling little ones who were super tired! I am so excited to have a blog back! I have not been able to write on it because it wouldn't even open if I had it marked to private and I am uncomfortable writing for anyone to see. I am so grateful to have this place again for my heart to share with myself! :)
