Beautiful Day with my Kids October 1st, 2016

Today is October 1st, it is the first day of fall conference 2016, St. George Marathon day.  I didn't run this year. I felt I should stay with my kids and make it a fun day, and not just one where I was tuned out because I was tired from running.  I made scones for the kids for breakfast.  Then we watched conference, and were well fed.  After conference we made a corsage for Sam's date tonight (homecoming) and then we headed to Gunlock with the canoes to play for a bit.  We had a picnic under Sam's Eagle shade and then took our speaker in my backpack and paddled across the lake as we finished listening to conference.  I am so grateful for such an amazing team!  When we were packed up from the lake to come home, there was a dad out there with three little girls.  They had three boats between them to carry up the ramp (which is closed due to low water).  Brinley noticed that they were all too little to help their dad carry their boats up the ramp, and she asked if she could go help them.  I am so grateful for that kind of young lady in my home!

We got home just in time to take some photos of Sam and make him change his bright orange socks and brown shoes with his new black suit and dark blue tie.  Seriously, where does he get his matching sense?  He is such a cute gentleman. I hope he is having a good time tonight. We have had a battle about the Priesthood session, and how it works with the dance tonight. I don't know if he actually made it or not, I may never know, but He knows that I feel strongly that he should.  I hope he went. but he has his agency so he will get to carry the consequences of that choice.  Brad and I testified to him many times, that we know that we are in the situation of abundance that we enjoy simply because we have choosen to put the Lord first.  I  am so grateful for that fact!  I am grateful for my best friend who honors his Priesthood, and gives his heart in service to our Savior Jesus Christ!
