"Only two more Sundays." Stephen raises his two little fingers to show "Two more Sundays." He has endured well. We have lifted, carried, cradled, loved and counted each Sunday, hoping that healing is happening! Twice I have taken Sara in for a check up on her arm. The first time we got x-rays on both cast kids. They both showed the bones lined up great and we hope healing happening. It was only two weeks after the breaks, and honestly, they didn't point out any healing, but the bones did show they were lined up right. Then a week later we went back in and Sara got her cast removed, and a simple 6-8" brace was put on her arm. Stephen came so we could see how they cut off her cast, and that it was noisy (the vaccum on the little vibrating drill was noisy) but they promised it wouldn't hurt. Sara did get a burn mark on part of the inside of her arm where their saw got too close to her arm. She was happy to be free from that cast. That day into the Dr office I had no taken the wagon. I just carried Stephen in his big bulky blue cast. Grabbing him by his bum, and lifting him what he called "the right way" he wrapped his little arms around my neck tightly and held on. I loved the kisses on my cheek and loved that he called it "the RIGHT way." How cute is that! I carried him in that way that day, so on the way out, at the appointment desk, I just told them quickly that I would call and schedule an appointment. Except, I didn't. Then another week past, and then when we got to two Sundays left, I called, and learned that they were all full. "No!" I protested. "This little man is in a body cast, and we can't make it another Sunday! Please, you have to find a time to get him in before that Sunday!" "Ok," they relented. "We will squeeze him in Friday morning at 9 a.m.." "Ok. Will you have any cancellations earlier?" "No telling. The only way to know is to call everyday and see." So I began! So Monday morning I called to see if there were any cancellations. Tuesday I called again with the same answers. Wednesday, again no change. I asked if Dr. Clark or his P.A. Nate were going to be in or if I was asking about a schedule blocked out completely. The claimed that Dr. Clark was scheduled for Surgery mornings that week, but would be in later.
