Feasting on the Word of God

Life these days is so packed full!  I am grateful to be fully engaged!  I am grateful for the abundant blessings we enjoy!

In the last two weeks we have been to Lake Tahoe as a family for three days to support Brinley's Lacrosse team win the Nevada State Championship.  Our car broke down.  There are pages to write about the miracles of that day!  We needed to be back by the next day.  Thanks to miracles including multiple Uber drivers (haha that word didn't even exist a year ago!) to two auto part stores, and two Amazing Men (Brad and Samuel) who despite even the diesel mechanics in the shop who said that there was something more wrong with our car, they got it fixed, and we drove home - through the middle of the night - arriving home to set our alarm at 5:25 a.m. for 6:30 a.m.. Yes, just one hour later.  I prayed over Brad has he was so exhausted, and asked for miracles that he/we would be refreshed and renewed and able to do what we needed to do with a ward conference and Seminary graduation the next day.  We both serve in stake callings right now - Brad in the Stake Presidency, and I in the YW so we both had assignments to speak at that ward conference.  Then I was in charge of 10 pans of brownies for refreshments at Seminary Graduation.  Wew.  Miracles happened, and at the end of that busy day, I heard myself say that I didn't even dose in a meeting, and that ward conference was the best one we have done yet. I am so grateful for miracles each day!

The next journey was the next Tuesday, Brad and I were invited to attend a Reagan Experience in California.  We drove, leaving Tuesday morning, and we were treated to a very luxurious opportunity to learn about the great leader that President Ronald Reagan was.  The fellowship with the other couples was extraordinaire!  I am sure we will be talking about those experiences, discussions, opportunities for many years to come!  It was a luxury we decided we were not going on, then tables turned, and we got a call two weeks before that someone had backed out, so we jumped in at a significant discount!  Even the hotel rooms were $575/night!  It was not a cheep trip!  Good thing it was only two nights!  We drove home Thursday night, back to our beautiful family!  I have many notes on the events there. I need several posts for that experience!

Saturday we found ourselves without events, so we took our old boat - that is New to us this year because we recovered all the upholstery and put a new radio in it, on it's maiden voyage for the year!  It was a treat to be there with our family!  Liesl had come down to help here while Brad an I went to California. She just stayed after the Tahoe trip.  She went home Friday, so she missed the lake on Saturday.  She is in a good place too.  We missed her and Chandler and Haley!

That Sunday was not quite as crazy as the week before, but Monday morning the kids and I left early to get the girls to EFY Provo.  It was a miracle that we were able to transfer them to that session as we originally registered them for one later in June, but the Family History Center is opening, and Brinley has been asked to be a part of that on the week they were scheduled to go.  So we prayed for a miracle, and I called Provo, and asked if there was any way, and they found a way!  Wow!  So I took them up Monday morning, and promised the littles (moving them to "Jr team" and moving the oldest three up to the "Graduates") so now Jr. team that I would take them to the Zoo.  So spend the night, and went to the Zoo on Tuesday.  We were just finishing the Zoo when Brad called, and said, "Don't come home."  He had received a new call, and needed to come to Ogden. So we got our (same) hotel room back at the Springhill in Draper (which is a very nice room and I love that I only have to pay for it when I use it and then I just use points from our visa!!!)  They clean the bathrooms, make the breakfast, and pay the utilities!!!  What a blessing!  I don't miss owning and worrying about the house we owned up there for a while that was a $2,500/month house payment + all those details on top!  I am so blessed!

So we stayed until Wednesday.  His appointment was in the afternoon.  He flew up Wednesday morning, we went to the Living Planet aquarium with his parents, and then he went to his appointment.  Liesl and I took the kids to the pool at her apartment - which is beautiful!  Then we drove home that night.  Wew!  Nope, not done!

Meanwhile, Samuel was at Timberline for what will be his last year there as a youth leader.  Next summer he will be leaving on a mission!  He went up Saturday (as usual) with the other youth leaders.  They get the camp ready, and the food there, set up the tents, etc.  Then the participants come on Monday morning.  He only stayed until Thursday evening, because he and Brad left Thursday night to drive to Purump Nevada with his Priest Quorum and the Teachers and their Dads for their high adventure camp at Front Sight.
Wew!  They landed there about 1:00 am.  They reported quickly tonight that it was more than successful.  They were able to have a very spiritual experience with the boys!  Yea!  I can't wait to hear more!  It was a quick report, because tonight he had to leave early to get home by 5 because tonight was the adult session of Stake Conference!  Crazy!
He was assigned to talk about chastity tonight. Not an easy subject for anyone.  Brad nailed it! I love him so very much!
I am so grateful for his power. I am grateful for the power of the Priesthood!  I am grateful for his leadership in our home!  His parents were down for a couple of days, and they came tonight. I am certain they are proud of him.  He used a couple of video links, and told a story about Chandler and Haley.  I am so grateful for the Holy Spirit that inspired him and blessed him beyond his natural abilities!  He has worried about tonight's talk for a month!  We talked about it all the way home from Salt Lake on... Wednesday!  I am so grateful for him!
President Jensen presented a great message tonight too!  He said "I wish that if you didn't have family home evening, you turned green for the rest of the week!"  It is that important, he went on to say!  He was talking on the distractions we get caught by!  He said that we need to not get caught in those problems!  We need to be so focused!  I was jumping a new born baby for a couple that sat on my same row, so I honestly wish I had taken notes, but I didn't.
He said there are four lies that the adversary tries to tell us.  I can't name all of them.  There is no Joy on that end of the equasion!  There are no blessings! It is all on their own, but the increased power is void!  There is no help!  He said the adversary is in the details, but he is not in the details making a difference, but destroying the details!
It was a great conference!  Oh, the intermediate hymn was "How Firm a Foundation" verses 1,2,3 and 71  I love those verses!  They are just for me!
I had arranged for young women to come to provide a nursery for any families who needed that to come.  We had about 12 girls show up to help - they are awesome!  We only had about 8 kids show up to be tended, but I call it a complete success!  We took them all to icecream after!  I got to testify that they had made a right choice to come help and that they would be blessed with way more than just icecream cones for being obedient and willing to serve!  I testify that is true!  I am so grateful for an amazing husband who leads our family in righteousness!  Thank you Heavenly Father for Bradley!  I love him!  He is finally home, and I am going to go jump in with him, because he has to be to stake meetings again tomorrow by 6:00 a.m.!  The time is now 11:24 and he is fast asleep, but I am so grateful I needed to record miracles and my thoughts of conference!

I didn't record miracles regarding youth conference food that I am in charge of next week.  They are many! I am grateful for the promise of Ask this year, I have asked, and found miracles abundant as I  have asked for help in doing the food for 150 kids and their leaders!  I testify that if we ask for miracles and have faith that they can happen, they will indeed happen!  I am so grateful!
Thank you!  Laus Deo!
