This year Jakob's Birthday is on Thanksgiving! It is the first year in several that we have not gone on a trip for this holiday! Last year we rented a cabin at Brianhead and had a fun time there together!

This year, with Jed and Annie expecting a new baby in 6 weeks and living in Idaho, they came down for the shower for Annie, but are spending the holiday today with her family.
Chandler and Haley same, they are spending today with the Nelsons.

So, we decided to make our own plans for fun! Budd and Jolene moved down to a new home in Washington this fall, and so they will be coming to dinner, but it was just be us! We made a plan, trying to include as much fun as we can! Here is our outline on the whiteboard!
We started this week with Sara speaking in Sacrament meeting and Sophia speaking in Primary! Grandma and Grandpa Harr came to support both of them. That was a fun surprise! Jakob got to wear the funny hat because they sang Happy Birthday to him! It matched his tie!

Tuesday we had everyone to a birthday dinner for Jakob, and then we had a baby shower for Annie! See the separate post about just that day. The Wednesday after several worked for a bit, we snuck away for a hike. Today we found a new hike called Babylon Arch.
Brad, Liesl and Stephen in the evening light! We did have to hustle a bit as it gets dark so early right now!
I love having Samuel around with us! He didn't really want to come, but came anyway... in his cowboy boots! I sure love this cute boy!!!
Here is the cool archway! Of course, we didn't go out and back, Brad lead us on a slot hike return trip! I love adventures! I wish he would have let me take this photo so he could be in it! He was on this trip!
The lighting in this photo is deceving! It was taken after the photo above, when we got the car and found the moon peaking over the mountain cliffs! So beautiful! It was really getting dark but here I wasn't trying to take a photo right into the light!
When we got home, we planned to go for a tennis tournament, but we found one of the new batteries for the RC cars had blown up. We are SO grateful it didn't burn our house down! We had to open all the doors and air it out! I think the smell has mostly gone away now. Tender mercies!
