Start Stop and Continue what?

I enrolled in Pathways through BYUI to finally finish my college degree that I stopped some 29  years ago. I don't know how I have time to put this in my schedule, but it is something that I feel I need to do, Brad has pushed me to go back to school a number of times, and I am sad that Sam doesn't think that school is even important. I feel that by showing by example that education is important, somehow it will bring joy and peace to my family which has been in such turmoil for months now!

I have been going for a month this week. The lessons have been basic in our Life Skills class. Trying to teach how to learn. I feel I have always been a learner. I love to read and spend hours studying, teaching and working with my kids. That said, I have enjoyed having a purpose to study and learn.  It has not been easy to say that I have to get up in the middle of the night or that I need to be excused from dishes because I have assignments due. On the other hand, I was feeling like I was the only one doing lots of the household jobs, and so for others to have to step up and help once and a while instead of acting like they are house guests here has been a welcome change that hasn't really changed much, but it has slightly, and I hope it will into the future more. I am not the only one that needs to help carry the weight of caring for the house, laundry, dishes, shopping etc. I need to teach my kids that being a family is a team effort and that we all need to help carry the load!

This week we are studying time management. I need to write down this fabulous idea of evaluating what we do with these three simple guidelines:  Stop, Start, and Continue?  What do I need to start doing? What do I need to stop doing? What do I need to continue doing?

As part of my classes, we are to do a discipleship project where we work on a quality to improve on. I decided to set weekly goals and then work to accomplishing them.
This goal ties into the new youth and children program of the church which I believe is not just for the youth and children. Brad has been involved in the roll-out of it, and it seems super slow, but it is coming. In that program the youth are invited to set their own goals, and then work to accomplish them. It is replacing the Boy Scout programs which we have been so involved in our whole lives!  Our Stake Presidency printed some new little cards to help make this program possible for adults as well as the young people. They handed these out at the recent training, and encouraged every member of the stake to evaluate often what goals the can work on to improve and come closer to our savior. so that we are constantly growing in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man. What a beautiful blessing!
So for my discipleship project, I committed to writing here weekly, and to setting new goals for every week.
Time flies so quickly! I am grateful to get to learn and grow. These three quick questions can help me quickly evaluate what I can work on to be better daily, weekly and always!
I have not recorded here the last two weeks, so I am repenting, and going right now to create posts for the goals and events of those two weeks.
This week we are leaving to go to Lake Powell with the Vaughan family on Wednesday. Liesl and her boyfriend Brian are coming to join us. Brinley has the time off and is coming. I hope that Samuel will take the time to come. It is always hard to get out of town and do it, but I don't believe we will remember the days and days that we work away, but we will remember the memories of time together!  Off to make memories together! Wholesome recreational activities as the Family Proclamation instructs. I am trying to follow and do as the Lord as asked!
