Crisis Management on the Houseboat

This week I have studied coping strategies for families. It is a great week for this as my family is on a trip together. We brought my in-laws for the first part of the week and then friends added for the end. I have appreciated thinking about crises and how we deal with challenges. Do we see them as opportunities for growth or as disasters and game-changers? That is up to us!
I am grateful that this has been such a great week. We had a scare - it was Thursday. We were moving our houseboat from one location to another and two of my kids were at the back of the boat trying to help with the anchors. My son was in the water waiting for the ropes to run to shore when I couldn't see him but my daughter on the back of the boat started screaming. I thought he was.....not good! It was the most fearful day of my life!  I will never forget it! That evening we gathered everyone together and talked about the communication problems that had occurred. There were many. We committed to not "storm" through docking again ever!
I was still upset that night and took my scriptures for a walk in the moonlight. I was reminded of how many miracles had happened that day. As I counted them my heart eased and I was able to share those tender mercies with my family and count our blessings instead of being mad.
I will add photos to this post when I can. Tonight I am working on my phone with very limited internet.
I am so blessed and grateful for the beautiful blessings I have been given! I am so grateful for each of my five sons and four daughters! They are priceless...everyone!!!
