Dare to Dream!

I love challenges. I love adventures. I love learning. Most of all, I love Family! All these things come together for a beautiful life!

I have really enjoyed and find myself talking about my Intro to Entrepreneur class often. I love the positive encouragement to try new things. To reach beyond what we think is possible, and dream big! I love the encouragement to check my life for my priorities and make sure I am living the life I want to be! I am!

This beautiful weekend we have been with family in Big Cottonwood canyon. We came up to help Chandler and Haley move out of their cute condo so they can go to law school. Oh, the memories of our trip to law school have played in my head all week. I cherish and love time with them! Their move was easy! We came to work for two days but were done in one.

Here is a glimpse of some of the fun we found because we put our shoulders to the wheel and worked hard.

These two cute little girls are so precious! I love time with them!

I am grateful for young people in my life who dare to dream big, and aren't afraid of setbacks!  One of these little girls (on the left) is Chandler's who will find a new home soon in Laramie Wyoming to go to school. They are Daring to take this new adventure on, even amidst CoVid, and the uncertainty of a job for three years, and the future with a family. I admire and love them!!!

The other little princess is Hannah (on the right) whose Dad is a 3L in law school in Boise Idaho. He moved his cute little family up there, bought a house, and has remodeled the whole thing! We recently had a trip to Idaho to help with a new roof on their house. Jed, her dad, learned Thursday that the law school he has been attending is closing its doors. He is supposed to have just one year left! What to do? He has had a great attitude despite this hard news and joined us in Salt Lake to help Chandler move, and then in the evenings has applied for seven new law schools. The deadline for many of them is either June 30th or July 1st. This announcement could have been a bit more convenient and been a few weeks ago. In just two short days, he has gathered recommendation letters from several professors and the Dean. He was offered a job by the law firm he is clerking for, and he came to serve his brother! What a cool dad!

I love these young people so much! I am so grateful for their courage, tenacity, good attitude, and will power! They are amazing!

This week in my Teachings of the Book of Mormon class we studied the power of the Book of Mormon and how it relates to the Bible. I am so grateful for the Bible! For my University Studies class this week I was to learn about Google Scholar. I have been pondering the Gathering and the promises to Abraham lately. In that class, I was to consider a topic and ask a question I could go searching for answers for. I decided to ask to learn more about the covenant to Abraham. I put in those search terms in the Boolean search on Google Scholar and a Jewish site with info about the covenant was first on the list. I decided the Jews keep great records, and that Abraham was in the Old Testament so they would be a knowledgeable source for this topic. I attempted to open the link to learn that I had to be a student of Judaism to read it. I decided that I was interested in Judaism and a student, so I registered for the 100 free articles from their journals they will allow me to read free.  This article went on to tell about the connection between circumcision and the covenant with Abraham. I was intrigued that they were quoting Paul from Romans and disputing what he was saying about the law of Moses. This was a professional article published in 2011. Not 2000 years ago!  No! Just a few years ago. That is what the Book of Mormon does! It clarifies so we have more information to understand the law of Moses so we don't have to guess! I love that! I love that "By small and simple things are great things brought to pass!" (Alma 37:6). I know this is true!

I can't do everything. I am late on assignments and can't get it all done every day. I am prioritizing carefully, and want my family to know they are number one. In the end, I am so grateful to gather everyone (but one son, Samuel) around and study the scriptures!  I love long Gospel discussions with them.

The other thing we learned about this week in my Book of Mormon class was about lists in the scriptures. They are everywhere. I am a list person. I can check it off and verify that I did them all. I know that sometimes the Holy Spirit requires that we veer from our charted course, to listen to and be an instrument on the Lord's errand. What a blessing and opportunity to prove myself and my commitment to Him. I am grateful that the lists in the scriptures include instructions to watch for the signs of His coming. I considered the lists in a handful of scriptures on the list, and then a few more with my gathering breakout, but I loved 3 Nephi 29:2-4,8,9. I think the list includes prophecy fulfillment, see the signs, not delay in doing good, efforts not in vain. When these steps are done, then we will remember and not spurn at the doings of the Lord. The Lord is fulfilling his covenant even the covenant he made to Abraham, and I need to not turn to the right or to the left! I need to keep focused on the instruction(s) I have received, listening carefully to the Holy Spirit to direct my paths.

This weekend I know that path has been to gather my family around, and celebrate, help, listen, and be with them! I love family! I love the Book of Mormon which testifies of family! I love the covenants of the temple!
