I love kicking off the end of October with Gratitude! I strive to be grateful all year long and not just in November! I am a gratitude believer! When we choose to see the miracles they multiply! Elder Scott and President Eyring have both testified of the truth that when we see little miracles, then more come our way.
I appreciated thinking about the culture of gratitude in our office. We have a law office with about 9 employees. They are awesome, and appreciate being appreciated! :). I took the time in addition to my three letters to thank our employees this week. I want to be grateful not because I am compelled to be grateful even by having an assignment. It is always better to choose our course than to be compelled to be humble!
This week the app that I was tracking my goals crashed. I emailed the support team, hoping to get my data from them. They returned my email with regrets that they wish they could access any of it! It has caused me to rework on my goals deeply and consider what I want to be long term. I am grateful to always be setting goals. I had a fantastic discussion with my kids about this this week. My 8 yr old wants to carry a pocket knife. I have told him he has to earn his whittling chip (old cub scout patch) before he can. Well, one day I found he had a pocketknife in his pocket, but he hasn't finished his requirements quite yet. Later I mentioned I had seen it. I asked what his purpose is for wanting to carry a knife. His quick answer was "to be like the guys." We had a great talk about where our choices lead, and together (all 3 of my kids and I) we talked about recent decisions in each of their lives, and where that will carry them. As I review my goals, I am grateful for this class, and the promptings it has brought to consider my path. Am I willing to Let Him (my Heavenly Father) Prevail in my life? I want to be grateful for the abundance that He sends to me every day! I am so blessed! Laus Deo. Thank you BYUI!
