Intros Intros Intros!

My name is Märta. I live in St. George, Utah. I am grateful to share each day with my best friend and husband. Together we love to recognize the miracles and blessings of our loving Heavenly Father as we navigate the paths of life! We have been blessed to be parents of sons and daughters who now range in age from 30 (graduating from Law School this spring) to 10 and 9 years old and many steps in-between! Family is our reason for living! We treasure time with them, and seek out opportunities to create memories together at every turn!

I am grateful to be well on my path to finally finishing the Bachelor's Degree I began before we got married some 32 years ago. I am so grateful for the many educational opportunities I have had. I love to learn. The piece of paper doesn't really matter, but the process does. At this point in my journey, my little ones are not so little anymore, and some of them now say my bad example of not finishing this degree shows that education is not important, which is not true! And so, I am now three semesters from finishing the courses required to get that paper. What a grand journey life is!

My husband did get those pieces of paper. First a paralegal certificate, then a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, then a Juris Doctorate Degree. Our family has always been our first priority, but his learning and training supports our family and so I am grateful for his sustained intense efforts, significant sacrifices, and ongoing willingness to act in faith which has brought us such blessings!

In 2006, we took a deep breath and jumped into the world of self-employment. Today, we are grateful for the fabulous team of people helping that law firm to succeed. He has helped people of all walks of life, in communities covering four states. The firm, Injury Smart Law seeks to help people recover financially after an accident. Our goal is to handle the paperwork so the client can heal.

Every step along this journey together has stretched us. President Nelson recently challenged us to act in faith, to enlarge that faith by doing things that require faith. Our path has been increasing our faith our whole lives. We love to find new ways to engage that faith to learn something new.

I must admit that I am not an avid social media consumer. I visit those sites for information when I know what I am seeking. I don't have them on my phone. I felt a few years back when President Nelson challenged us to take a social media fast, that I simply didn't need that in my life. I removed them from my phone, and have not reinstalled them. I can access my accounts through the web, but I really try to not spend much time there. Having said that, I know that many people spend hours and hours there. I appreciated the statement that there are not "social media" texts because they are out of date before they are printed. Life is constantly changing. We must find positive ways to steer our time, talents, energy, as well as those of our family to enlightening, uplifting, inspiring paths. How can we better employ social media avenues to assist us in sharing light in today's world. That is what I look forward to learning in this class. I want to be engaged in being a light. I want to learn to help our business be recognized on social media platforms as a place of healing, help and support.

I look forward to learning this semester together.
